3rd gen runner power door lock question

What causes the truck to lock itself ?
What's the drill for undoing that blasted deal!

My buddy's truck did that on a recent camping trip with 3 of us in the vehicle and I wanted to blow it up!

Thanks!

on my 99 if i hit the unlock button and dont open a door or anything it automatically locks itself back

the drill to unlock it would be to hit the "unlock" button or use the key

I didn't realize being INSIDE a locked vehicle was such a huge inconvenience.

210- we do things on the road that require exiting the vehicle numerous times
while making frequent stops.
Imagine having the doors locked every time you go for the handle!
Then locked again when you get back to the car!

The has to be some sort of sequence to hit the key fob because my truck only does it every once in a while.

I didn't think the 3rd gen had the autolock. Does it have an aftermarket system?

i believe its a stock system .......small black rectangular
fob with 3 buttonsincluding the window rolldown button
Red panic buttton on back.
Normally it dos not self lock but every now and then it
starts doing it .
I figured it was a fob button sequence that would turn that
function on and off

I would see if you can find a manual online. Do you have the RS3000 system? Anywhere red flashing light that is labeled toyota security or anything?

If you are outside the locked vehicle and hit the unlock button the car will unlock. if you don't touch it for 30 seconds it will lock itself again. If you open the door within 30 seconds it should not relock itself. It should remain unlocked until you choose to lock it.

You would think!
But not my truck............
It never locks itself after 30 seconds.................until it decides to do it .
Then it will do it for a few days and then it stops.
It started doing it in my garage the other day and currently sitting silent in my girlies driveway with the locks open!
The last time it started self locking was maybe a year ago.

No red blinking light on my system and no alarm.
Just the power door set up
