3rd gen rear susp ideas
Ok need some advice from the fabrs in here!
I have an Engage LT front and need to dial in the rear to keep up somewhat...
So, 3 link it and go thru the rear w/14x2.5" coilovers or switch it over to leaf springs or dont cut rear and just run som OME bigger struts and springs in stock location like everyone does.....and drag the rear end thru the whoops...
Live in Socal so mostly desert runs but want to keep it 4x4 trail ready, not a one dimesional prerunner.

engage kit
well its been paid for but not installed yet as Im waiting on the rear end plans to be formalized...most likely 3 link with 14x2.5 thur rear. Trail gear has a nice kit...?
the engage kit is insane tho! I do not think bump stops are needed if your running the additional bypass shock as I will have...I think doublecabmike aka mohawk mike(CT/ttora), whom has the kit does not have bumps or the bypass and its working well for him so far!
The 4x4 parts are still in the works...Engage has not had the time to test and retest due to the racing schedule..but promises to allocat his sundays to that very soon. So I slightly gambled, buying an LT kit without the 4x parts not fully developed....but, after discussing that with Hassim in person, I'm confident it will be available by end of summer. And will be stronger than the competitions modified tundra axles used.

So what CO are you going to run in the front w/the LT? Are they using the stock upper CO mount on the frame with the engage kit?
Once the half axles are designed this kit will be so tight. I might just have to start selling my current compents.....hummmm

will be running king 8x2.5 coilovers and bypasses in the front. Its gonna be pretty sick. Ive got all the parts to switch over to manual hubs, just need to get to a table press to press in ABS sensor etc. Got all the parts to switch over to tundra caliper/brembo blanks....also need to install my fiberglass hood and fenders...and vovle electric fan, and got some of mossys sliders to be welded on. Need a rear locker eventually!
Lots of work to do, thats for sure. Should be rockin n rollin strong in August!
now how bot them rear end ideas?
trail gears got a 3 link kit thats universal? emailed over there to see if it would work for the 3rd gen...response was pretty weak, "...no experience with that one,...never see 3rd gens on the trail."
Thought that was wierd to say the least. Never indiacted what vehicles the 3 link works with?

Also is there a kit for the manual hub conversion or did u piece it together yourself?

fiberglass
found a used set of these that i bought:

going to see how it looks...really love the fiberworx glass though which allows you to run a one piece clip which really updates the look as it incorporates the new tacoma headlights.

i went the true triangualted 4 link out back, dropped the pan hard...kept SS 7.1 coils, Coil Catchers, 14 IAS Edlebrock shocks and limit straps, Disc brakes---I ended easily having 13 inches of travel (9" down and 4" up) and it rides very nice on and off the street/trail.....Had to build a gas tank to go where the spare does and my shock tower goes up into and thru my cargo area....Not going to lie it is a fair amount of fabricating!!! but worth it

Also, how many gallons does your tank hold and did you build two?
