Nice area. I lived outside of Phoenix (is Williams AFB still there?) for a year when I was in high school. I could have passed on some of the dust storms, but I still enjoyed it there.

I need to research the Arizona, California, and Colorado states much more before I make such a large move. I love California, Utah, and Colorado, but deciding where to live and work is a totally different story than vacationing.
Looking for retirement locations was one of the many reasons the wife and I made the trip out to Colorado for CO4RJ. Prior to the CO trip, moving back to Florida was always the primary option. Since the trip, moving out west has jumped into the lead. Did I plan it that way...maybe .

Well, I'm real far away from retirement, but I want to live somewhere that I love, not just like for the most part with one thing that sucks. I've got to do some more traveling out there to really find out what we should do.

Chris
The 2001-2002 Automoatic is too long. Jeff the Impailer though that his 2000 tranny was a bit shorter and may work. I'm sure if it will he'll have one very soon or has one already.

See if you can move your rear drive shaft mount back 8.5". Obviously it can't go past the rear crossmember or gas tank.

So as a rule of thumb, it's pretty much an manual tranny thing. But check it out, maybe it will fit, see if you have 8.5" between where it ends now and the rear crossmember.

Does it matter that I've got a 1997, not a 2001-02? I'll check to see if I've got the 8.5" of room.

Chris

P.S. I can at least get the 4.7:1 crawl ratio for it though, can't I?

No, the only thing they have is the dual cases, the 4.7 gear only fits in the older cases.

Well that sucks! Oh well! I'll check to see if I have the room under there and then let you know.

Ok, Steve, you won't beleive what the popping sound was. When I installed my lift, I had disconnected the driver's side bolt on the panhard bar to make it a tad easier to flex the suspension out to get the springs in and out.

Once I resintalled everything I had installed the bolt reverse of the way it was supposed to, because it was sort of a pain the butt to get it back in. Well, today after trying to figure out what the hell was going on with this noise, after tightening the driver's side and the new bolt you supplied for the panhard drop bracket, I decided that something was still screwed up.

So, figuring, but highly doubting it could have been because I reversed the bolt, I removed the bolt to find that the part closest to the head of the bolt was slightly larger in diameter than the rest of the bolt. So, after reinstalling it the correct way, to my surprise, the popping was gone.

I couldn't beleive that slight amount of flange on that bolt made that kind of difference, but now everyone knows that bolt should only be installed one way, the right way!
