3rd gen indiglo dials from speedhut

Hi, I sent in a 99 automatic 4runner cluster to speedhut. They need 20 pre orders to start the tooling process. The cost is $119.95 plus $8.00 S & H per order. You can choose your own font, colors, graphics etc. Each order can be different from the next. If you can think it they can make it, I think they say. The bad news is that the cluster I sent in might only work for 99-00 4runners. I should have done a bit more research I guess. (mine is a 01 automatic) Why toyota has to change the cluster every couple of years I don't know. I did get mine through an online junkyard so maybe some 01+ owners can search through the different ones online or off to find one and maybe split the cost of getting one. I spent $200 on mine. I should get my dials for free though. Please help folks and lets get this thing going. If I hear anything from speedhut I will let you know. Their web site is
for more information.

I'm interested...how do you place a pre order? I saw the development page, no 4Runner on yet. What exactly is the difference on the '01 gauge face? I could'a sworn the '01 dash I did was the same as my '99? Thanks for donating that '99 set though...

Oops. Sorry Sleepy, thought you had an '01...Your gauge faces look the same as mine. I think. I'll look at the pics again. I always thought the '99-'01 was the same. If yours are like mine, '99-'02 should be the same. I don't think Toyota would do an '01 gauge face differently from '99 and switch back in '02....I guess we'll find out. You gonna order a set?

Question

Hey Duckfan, just looked at the pics of Sleepy's '02. Looks exactly like my '99. Is your '01 different? Do you have a headcount for the pre orders?

There is no 4runner on the speedhut development page because I just sent the 99 cluster in on Fri. June 14. There were two small things different between the 99 cluster I sent in and my 01 cluster. 1. There are a few indicator symbols next to the temp guage and fuel guage that have been rearranged a bit. 2. My 01 cluster has the Four-wheel drive and center differential lock indicator light between the Tachometer and the Speedometer. I did not see this on the 99 cluster I sent in. The 99 cluster I was told came of a 4x4 model but now I am not really sure. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the 4x4 clusters and the 4x2 clusters for 99-02 4runners? This has become a bit more complicated than I had thought it would be. I hope to hear from speedhut by the end of this week. I really want these dam indiglo dials!

Of course, I need those reverse indiglo dials! or at least that's what i'll tell my boyfriend, he shouldn't have a problem as long as I pay for it.

Yeah! What the heck. You shouldn't have to ask...just do it! LOL...just messin'. Hey, you all have to show me when you get these things. I want to see what they look like on your rigs! Goodluck, you are all really lucky! :beaver:

I almost never ask I just tell him something's on the way and that way it's not to easy for him to tell me to not get it because it's already on the way. Usually his reply is "do you have to?" and I always say yes. , Although he does like the blue signal arrows now that Brian changed them so he does like some mods I do. Hopefully the dials he'll like too, he'll probably help me pick out the font and etc. So did anyone find out if the 99 is different from 01 and 02? i don't remember it looking different.

Cool

Hey Sleepy. Toyota Punk told me the difference is the icons on the sides of the temp & fuel gauge. Apparently, Toyota decided to shuffle them around. This creates a dilema UNLESS Speedhut is going to do the '99-'00 AND a '01-'02 temp & fuel gauges. That would be nice of them and create more sales...it's wait and see for now.
