3rd gen Capable of having remote powered rear window?

Does anyone know if it's possible, or have already, functionality of opening/closing power rear window by remote? I think it'd be neat to have, to gain access to rear cargo area without having to open rear door all the time.

Thanks,
James

It's possible, my on my 2002 you can lower it via the key fob, but to put it back up you have to use the key

Yeah - my 99 goes right down with the stock key FOB. And it goes down by using the key. Not sure what you are looking to do here??

'97s only have 2-button remotes - no window button. He is asking if there is a way to make the 3-button remotes work with the older units (brains). I would also like to know if this can be done..

Is anyone still subscribing to this thread? I have a 99 4Runner with stock 4 key remote (including the red panic button). I just got through programming it to the rig. All buttons work (lock/unlock, etc.) but the rear window only rolls down, not up, with the keyfob. Is it supposed to do both somehow? I noticed the arrow on the keyfob window button only points down. Could that be a clue? Thanks/

the remote can only roll the rear window down. To raise it you have to use the key/button on the inside of the vehicle.

I have the fob to make it go down. I would like a button to make it go up also. I havent heared of one to make it go up, though I havent looked for one either.

I noticed the 5th gens have an up and down arrow next to the 4Runner emblem. I beleive it is for the rear window. If it is I would like to have/install one. Not really relevent but something I saw.

if u have an aftermarket alarm with an auxillary channel then a shop could wire that into it it jus takes a few relays and a moduel that when turned on will run power for the desired amount of time to completely lower the window and then shut off so that it doesnt burn out the motor
