3" lift on 32" or 33" tires

I thinking about buying a 3" lift for my 96 taco, and I don't want to do a body lift. But the question is, I know 32x11.50 tires will work on my stock rims, but I'd like to put 33x12.50 tires on (probably on an aftermarket wheel as well) but will the 33's rub too much and just be a pain?

I know I'm not the only one with this idea, so any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks

33 inch tires will fit perfect with that lift. You might need to do a little firewall banging or trimming of the rubber in the fenderwell but probably not.

i run 33s with about 3 inches of lift and i dont get any rub while driving the streets. i did have to trim a little and im running 15x10 wheels with im not sure how much backspacing. works pretty well.

you should be ok with 33's. i have 255/85r16's on my 99 taco with 1.75" rancho quick lifts and aal's in the back in 16x8" pro comp wheels. after i did some trimming, they still rub a little on the street and a little more on the trail when i soften the shocks. i'm planning on putting a 1" spacer and/or different springs in the front (tundra, though i don't know how much lift they will give me) and a set of shackles in the back to level it out.

if i had to do it over again,i would get a 3" set of c/o's, though i would do the back the same. i had bad axel wrap which the aal's fixed, and the shackles should help with driveline angles.

the problem i have is more with width ( duh, it's a toy!!) than height. the tread likes to grab the frame at full lock to the right; but not to the left oddly enough. stick with something skinny and 3"s should be fine.

Don't forget about clearing your upper control arm. Make sure the wheels you have give you the right amount of backspacing so your tires don't rub the upper control arm.

Well whats going to happen is that if you buy 32's, you'll just want 33's, so save yourself the hassle, time and money and just go 33's.

Wide 33" tires will also rub on your frame at full lock if you don't reduce your backspacing a fair bit. I had to space 285/75R16s 1/4in outwards and those are only 32.8x11.4 or so.
