I am glad the MAF cleaning was good for you. Once a year and you should be golden.

In staying with the electrical thread, have you crawled up under the 4 runner to look at the O2 wiring? Check both of them. I still think it is the O2 or A/F sensor as the primary culprit.

With the truck turned off pressing the gas all the way to the floor opens the throttle body all the way, so it must not be dbw.

 

Crawled up under to check the wiring and it looked good. Peaked over at my fuel filter to discover it's leaking. Definately gona fix it asap, could this cause the tps code to be thrown?

 

When you checked this did you look inside the TB or just looked at the pulley on the outside? The pulley moves all the way, but there is a clutch and electric motor on the DBW system that disengages the pulley from the butterfly inside the throttle body...

If it really is not drive by wire, then maybe you have a transmission kickdown cable adjustment problem - also it seems weird that you don't have other drivability problems with a malfunctioning TPS on a non-DBW system. Maybe your IAC? but then again, the P-0121 code must have something to do with it.

 

Ah, i got ya, yeah I only looked at the pulley, don't have it pulled apart tonight. Don't know if its got a transmission kickdown cable, there are three cables, throttle and i guess cruise control, not sure about the third. I'm gona address the leaky fuel filter next though and see if it corrects the problem.

 

It is possible. I'll be crossing my fingers.
