Ordered mine yesterday.

With the s/c and 305's is an AFC or other fuel control device absolutely necessary for normal driving?

First off, congrats on the purchase!

If you're not going to run something to manage the fuel, then I would hold off on putting the injectors in until you can afford a fuel pump and a controller.

The 305cc injectors are meant to deal with the lean condition that comes from running an S/C in the first place. But, you can't just drop them in - the ECU will become incredibly confused since the last it knew you have something a lot smaller in there. From what folks have found, the ECU's own adjustment range isn't wide enough to fit the 305's to the engine, hence the need of a piggyback controller.

Past that, the 305's won't do a lot of good unless you upgrade the fuel pump. The stock pump won't really have the capacity to keep the 305's fed properly.

I would have done this long ago except for all the other mods needed to make it right........and the premium fuel requirement. With the price of gas continually going up, and no other vehicle to fall back on, this is a no-go for me. In the end, it would probably be cheaper to swap in a modern fuel injected small block V8 and be done with it. More low end torque, and probably better gas mileage then the 5VZFE.

I too got mine last November when they were $1750. I think they are definitely worth it at this price. My local dealer charged $400 for the install, which was shabby, so I took it to another dealer to fix it (who wanted $800 to install it). They fixed everything under warranty since it was dealer installed. Yes, gas is more expensive, but I noticed an increase in fuel mileage as long as I'm not flooring it all the time. I think it evens itself out. I've needed no fuel mods at all. It doesn't ping or act up at all anymore. Have fun.

SO, what about the 7th injector kit that TRD offers. Is it worth it? Or is it better to go towards the URD kit?

The latest thread asking this question is happening over here:

The short answer is that both will "fix" the lean-out issue and get you all the HP that the S/C can create. The URD kit is nice for the folks that want to tweak and play since the fuel/timing controller is programable. The TRD injector is nice for folks that want to plug it in and forget about it.

Any Regrets buying the super charger from Toyota Auto Parts?

Just wondering if anyone has had a good or bad experience ordering parts (ie superchargers) from Toyota Auto Parts? I'd like to order mine today, but I'd like to know I'm getting good parts from a good dealer.
Thanks!

The dealer is Sterling McCall Toyota which is one of the largest dealers in the US. I've never had any problems ordering parts from them, there great in my book.
