3.4 Clutch problem @ higher rpm, searched
I bought this 4runner just a few months ago, it's my first 5-speed so I don't know much about them.
'99 4runner 3.4L 134,000 miles
In all gears, when I bring the RPM's up over 3000 and push the clutch in to shift, part way through the motion the motor kind of bogs down and I feel some pressure against the clutch. It's like in the higher RPM's the clutch isn't totally releasing or something?? In low RPM's I don't notice it, but it gets worse with higher and higher RPM's.
Side note: there is a transmission whine through the first 3 gears.
Any advice will help, let me know if I can provide more info.
Thanks YT

sounds kinda like the clutch master cylinder, however it could be the slave cylinder...
I am leaning towards the master I believe it also has the power assist off the brakes not positive...
Will have to check the FSM as to what all is entailed or some one else may chime in....
