3.4 5vzfe price?

Not sure if this is where this post should go, so if you're able feel free to move it to where it should go.

Anyways, I have a 1997 4Runner with the 5vz and love the thing to death. The truck has 245,000 miles on it and has been very well maintained but I'm kinda looking for a long block to rebuild and prep for a supercharger. ( the super chargers from Trd have been discontinued, BUT the manufacturer still holds the patent and stripped it of "Trd" and is selling it again! https://www.lceperformance.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=7015249-1 ) I found a post on Craigslist for a 5vzfe, auto trans and wiring harness with "a little over 200k" the guy wants $900 for it all. He is willing to sell the engine alone but I don't know how much to offer. I'd like to spend as little as possible. So what would you pay for a 5vzfe with that kind of mileage?

That is like asking how deep will the snow Pack be on the Front Range on January 23 2020

Kind of a regional thing .

A running engine is worth more then one in a box.

Since you want one to rebuild I myself would find a 97 4Runner with the 3.4 that does not work for what ever reason.

Buy the complete vehicle keep the parts you want sell or scrap the rest.

Maybe you don`t have the room.

Yeah I figured that's what it would come down to. I honestly didn't think about buying one that didn't work and in a truck. Haha! You're a genius! Thanks for the reply I appreciate it!

I found a JDM engine off of eBay for $1,600 that had around 30k miles that had been imported. I had to replace my engine after the crank pulley bolt came loose and ground down the keyway on the crank. It was just easier and cheaper to do a whole engine swap. I had the shop swap my supercharger over to the new engine. I've put about 25k miles on the new engine so far. It runs like a champ!! Just took a peek at eBay, and the prices are even cheaper now. They're going for around $1000-$1400, and most import places offer a warranty with it.
