NO TORQUE?? isnt that what the 3.0 is known for...

I own both a 3.0 4runner and a 22r modified P/U and there is no comparison to the torque between the two...I've driven many 22RE's and even those cant compare in the torque category...the 3.0 isnt any GREAT motor but its a hell of alot more reliable and will outlast any domestic motor

Question

i really want to do that to my 3.0. Anyone have any suggestions on what turbo to use? I looked up the one that was used in the 3.0 on the ebay auction, and i found one for a really good price, but are there any others that are better? Also, what other parts do you need except for the turbo kit? Any/all help will be really appreciated.

WHAT?!? If you have a timing chain guide problem, then yes, you should replace it. Other wise, they last a LONG LONG time. No way you should replace them as often as you replace a timing belt. In fact, most times they last longer than the engine, mine did.

The 22re, while a nice engine, is slow, underpowered, and has no torque. My 90 and some change horsepower is pretty sad. New gearing helps it, but unless you've got it geared really low, you'll still have it revved up when everyone else is idling over the rocks.
