2wd questions

i know this forum is mostly 4wd info but you guys seem to know the most info on toyotas i have a 93 2wd pickup basically just a show truck i got 2 questions. one is, is there anywere i can get a bigger brake rotor kit for the front or does one out of another car fit cause i cant find one, and also i know there are all different types of lockers etc. but i need something just to get both wheels spinnin when im doin a burnout doesnt have any other purpose just want it for that so i dont wanna spend alot and i dont want it to effect normal driving. what kind do i need.

any locker will effect normal driving, if you cant handle that, dont get a locker.....

there arent any big brake kits available, however you can piece together a pretty good stock setup with high quality parts.....

you must find out if you have an 7.5" rear or an 8" rear.... some toyota 4x2s had either.....

my 85 4x2 has an 8" rear

get a LSD....I can't answer your questions about the other stuff but check out www.customtacos.com They're more geared towards lowered trucks...there's a bunch of guys on there with the older yotas and there's a lot more relevant info over there about your truck

and lsd might work, doing burnouts both wheels might spin, however at a certain point an lsd gives up and will not try to spin both wheels.... a locker will...

lockers are fine on the street as long as you dont drive like a complete moron

if you want a locker, but don't want it to effect your driving style, throw in a selectable locker. i know you said that you don't want to spend alot of money, but thats the best of both worlds for ya.

A powertrax or something like that ("auto-locking") might work for the rear diff. It is not as true as a switchable, but it costs about 1/3 of those, too. Not sure how well/long it would hold up for street burnouts. It will have slight driving effect, especially on wet streets. Nothing major, but it takes a time or two to get used to. My $.02.

getting a LSD shouldn't cost tooo much ... my problem is getting a place to install it for a reasonable price. i was quoted $600 just to install the TRD lsd i have that has been sitting in my room for months now.
