2rz missing when cold

I have a 96 Tacoma 5 lug 5speed with a 2rz that I drive 80miles a day. Truck has 204,000 miles it. It has been flawless for the last 3 plus years I have had it besides the engine makes a little noise when warm. Almost like a deap rattle? Anyway it has been making that noise for the last 70k miles... sooo.....

The reason I am here is because yesterday I started my truck went into town. On the way there I noticed wile it was cold it would stumble or miss under load. Once it warmed up it ran fine. On the way back home it ran fine.

This morning same thing. pulling out of the driveway it was skipping and missing but it would still gather speed. Once It was warm it ran normal.

Plugs are about 2 years old, and the wires are oem. My radiator has a tiny pin hole leak and I add about 18oz ever 5-6k miles or so. I know its the radiator due to the wetness.

Anyone delt with this before, Give me a place to start?

No CEL, I assume? No other issues?

Just a couple of things that quickly come to mind:

Condensation inside the distributor perhaps?
Maybe a failing coolant temp sensor?

yea no CEL, once it warms up it drive fine. I dont really mess with this truck alot because it is my DD. The hood has not been up for some time now. I friend says he thinks it might be the plug wires. They have never been changed...

Well, I would say its time for a little maintenance.
Plugs, wires, air filter, PCV, thermostat, etc.
Check vacuum lines for cracks, holes.

Then go from there.

Let us know what happens

Plugs are less that 2 years old.
Wires- maybe
Air filter is changed every other oil change
PCV? what does that have to do with skipping when cold?
thermostat? why would I change that? Its works fine. when the truck is cold the coolant guage shows cold. about 3 miles from my house its pumping heat out of the vents and the needle rases to just below the half way point on the guage.

Will Vacuum lines cause a miss when cold? idle is normal.

I dont replace parts unless they are confirmed as the problem or have been narrowed down to being the problem.
