Well after studying the intake I went ahead and did it. It definately sounds better and seems to have mid-RPM power improvements. I haven't driven on the freeway with the A/C on. Seems like accelerating on an uphill onramp with the A/C on I get nowhere so that will be my best chance to see if there are any improvements.

update: Well with the A/C on the truck is still a dog. Of course this is all due to the taller tires I now have. It's been over 100F lately so couple that with close to 4000 feet of altitude and this mod helps but doesn't make the 3.0 a powerhouse. With the A/C off there is a noticable improvement in acceleration at all times.
