2nd gen 4runner front end question

2nd gen 4runner front end question
ok, someone told me that the toyota truck front end parts(fenders, grill, lights, etc...) from 89-95 are interchangeable with the 2nd gen runners. Now if this is true, I should be able to just slap some corner lights from an 89-95 truck and be able to fit fenders from trucks of those years correct. The reason I ask is because there is a really sweet fiberglass fender kit I like that says works for the 89-95 truck, and if what I was told really works, I should just be able to do that to get those fenders on. Sorry this is sort of confusing, but can anybody clear this up for me what is fact, thanx.

I'm not 100% sure, and I've never tried to change parts, but the front of my 93 4Runner looks a lot like the front of my friends 93 truck. I'm guessing fenders, etc would be interchangeable.

I wish they were interchangeable cuz it'd be nice to change out the headlights to some eurospecs cibie's, but everything I've heard says no go.

(This isn't obvious unless you're looking for it.) I don't know if this affects the fenders, try asking a salvage yard or a toyota parts counter?

fenders & corner lights are identical, the grill/headlights are different but still interchangable with a couple holes drilled. the mounting points are slightly off, to allow for the curved headlights. got the closer look at it when i was contemplating replacing my cracked 91 grill with a pristine 92 grill... ended up deciding not to do it, because i just like the look of the 90-91 over the 92-95
i mean, 3rd gens are paying extra for the 'TOYOTA' (satoshi), then it's gotta have something going for it

did you call the company that makes those fenders and ask? - cause I cant think of anything that would give you problems otherwise...
what year is your Runner?

hmmmm, are there common mounting points between the two that could be used as a ref, particularily for the headlight buckets? (putting the early/truck style lights into a 94 4runner, the grill I'm not so concerned about except that for used parts you may have to get the whole setup)

The lights mounting screws are different for sure. Tried to do it when i had the 95 that i was parting. The whole rad support is different. It could be done i just didn't feel like drilling a bunch of new holes.

yea, the light mounting would be the biggest step, the grill however would be only a couple holes, a number of them do line up... only thing is, switching from a 92-95 era headlight to a 90-91.. you would have considerable gaps in your front if you didnt switch the grill too.. don't think it would look too good?
