$290 a Fair Master Cylinder Install Price?

Alright guys, I'm pretty sure my brake master cylinder is dead and I got a quote for $290 with parts and labor to fix it. I was going to attempt to do it myself as the part ranges only between $110 and $165 depending on if I get a new or remanufactured part. I know the install is a pain in the a$$ and would risk getting into trouble but I myself just have a hard time paying someone else to do the dirty work when I can!

The rig is a 97 Toyota 4runner 4x4, 2.7L with no ABS.

That's not really that bad. I had one replaced on my car 3 or 4 years back and it was about 350 or so for everything. I should have done it myself, but I didn't have a place to do it at the time or the right tools to do it by myself.
