22re running like %^$
The other day I went through some water in my truck and my intake sucked up some water. I went through the whole process(pull plugs, clean intake, etc) and my truck didnt lock up. Since then my truck has been idleing pretty rough. Its is about 900rpms but it drops down a bit then jumps back up. It shakes my whole truck. Also when I am driving around and I rest my foot on the gas pedal the truck starts to jerk around. I have cleaned out the maf, the intake and the throttle body. It seemed to help a little bit but not much. Also will having the pcv hose hooked up to a separate air filter, could this be causeing the problem? Thanks in advance

i dont think its the pcv filter..... have you dried out the inside of the distributor? it looks sealed. but water can get in and cuase all sorts of funny things... also is there an idea air control valve or a throtle position sensor on your engine?

oops, supposed to have typed idle air control valve... im not too familiar with toyotas so there may not be one at all... but i know in fords that that part fails a lot after water ingestion and makes the idle very irregular

Ok I figured out my rough idle problem, loose plug wires. After that was fixed the next morning I started my truck and the it was idleing (choked) at almost 2k. That doesnt seem right. When the truck get up to temp it idles around 1000-1100 which doesnt seem right either.
Also today I decided to clean my throttle body, after I was done I started up the truck and let it sit there for a second. I noticed that a hose from the valve cover to the intake manifold was almost disconnected, so I pulled it off to repostion it and the idle dropped a bit. When I hooked it back up the idle went back up. Then I went out drive the truck right after the idle went up to about 1300 and dropped down. It kept repeating this. I went back home and turned the truck off and let it sit for a few and started it back up and the problem was gone. What the hell??
Anyone have any ideas?

It happened again today, when I applied the brakes the truck would rev up 300 rpms than drop down again. It went away a coupla seconds after i let off the brakes. All my vacuum lines are connect correctly to the best of my knowlage. Im clueless. Come-on someone has to know how to fix this.

It sounds like the problem I had. It would idle very rough sometimes but not all the time. I took it to my mechanic he ran a dianostic test and found the 3rd clyinder injector was clogged. He unclogged the injector with a machine that he hooked up to my fuel line that shot a very strong detergent mixed with gas through the injectors. He said the obstruction was gone and it ran alot better. All of a sudden it started doing it again and I took it back and he said he found the MAF was very dirty. He cleaned it and now it runs so mcuh better. Hope this helps!!

Right now the idle isnt too rough, just jumping around under braking, if someone could email a vacuum diagram that would be awesome. I havent found a decent one yet on the internet.
Thanks
