Do you like your current ride or how it used to ride? Then get OEM from the dealer (30$/each). This will probably be the cheapest solution
I found a really good deal on Bilstein-HD that I put on myself . They handle much better but also give a firmer ride, not always good (especially not in my wifes view).

You can do the install yourself and remember to get an alignment afterwards. I would recommend going to a shop to get them to compress the spring/coil for you, as using the springcompressors you can rent can be hazardous.

I was on a budget and just had to go with OEM replacements and I made sure I was getting the taller coils that my '99 came with and on partz.net.com I got shocks and coils for about $390 shipped and had a friend help with the install in exchange for a couple nice NY Strips.

Not as good as the Bils but the road handling is still decent and off road I haven't had any issues but a couple of inches more and sliders would be nice.

thats odd. i guess its prolly something w/ the 99shocks versus other yrs.
