It is a beautiful truck..... I did notice the shocks were on the outside of the frame I think of the TRD Off Road DC I drove yesterday..... The rear shocks/ top's were inside the rear wheel well...

Anyone else confirm this?

I posted a couple of suspension pics in this thread (scroll down).

Thanks.... When I looked at the pictures before I did not really pay attention to that one in detail and did not understand it until now I need it in person, from the outside....

Now, will the shocks for the SR5 Packages be there also so someone could add different shocks later down the road, say the bilstiens?

Yes, all models have outboard shocks. I think your buying strategy is a great way to get almost everything with the SR5 Package #7 (SH) or #8 (SJ) tow package models. Then eventually create something even better than either TRD package for hard-core use. For mild off-road and better resale, I'd probably stick with the TRD Off-Road package that gets those great sport seats and e-locker. So many choices it takes a spread sheet to figure it all out. Nice looking, practical accessory group shown in the text brochure link in the first post. It'll be easy to create something unique and special with the full factory warranty.

Those of you who eventually buy the '05 Tacoma are gonna love it. I certainly am enjoying mine.

The double-cab V6 is available in a 6-speed manual, but only with the shorter bed.

There is a red double-cab 6-speed sitting in the lot at my local dealership, along with a speedway blue access-cab 6-speed.

The shocks are on the outside of the frame, and have a stud on the top instead of the eye.

Anything else, just ask...

Marc
