2005 Black Beauty
After a looooooong quest to get a 4Runner and a loooong wait to find one, I purchased a 2005 4Runner black w/grey V8 SR5 4WD. Enough talk, here are the pics:

I thought to myself that I was going to trade the chrome for a painted grill, but the more I look at it, the more I like the chrome. I am anxious to go wheeling, but I havent even started making payments yet!!! Maybe I will give in soon......

lookin good! hope you have deep pockets as it'll be an expensive hobby now that you have a kick @ss ride
if you plan to offroad:
get rid of those running boards and upgrade to some rock sliders (a few vendors sell em and can be found here in the vendor section or by simply searching on the top right button "search" - search for "sliders" or something like that)
get some lift in there (do it yourself as it's not hard. esp you don't have xreas so it's even easier!) - lots of options .. just search again
wheels and tires - 16x8 a must w/ 285/75/16 would be appropriate. MT/R's are recommended for the terrain here but they're expensive so keep that in mind. with that said, you'll rub like crazy if you offroad w/ these tires and 3" of lift (expect mudflaps to disappear on the trail unless you've taken the liberty to remove em).
all of this will set you down atleast in the 2k mark so do plan accordingly.
good luck!

I got the same version last month. I too had mixed feelings with the chrome on the grill but I do like the fact that it is different and overall I think it looks great. I would never buy a car other than black exterior and grey interior.
I have always used Zymol wax although the quality isn't what is used to be since it was purchased by Turtle Wax. And I prefer the paste since it is easier to control.

Good ลลลล...if I was going to buy an 05 black would be my only color choice.
I came sooo close to buying one but the jerkoffs at the dealership couldnt give me a good enough deal...and this was at the end of August no less.
I decided I didnt want a car payment so I just sold some other stuff and bought a used '01..but I loved the 05 in the test drive...congrats..
