Mine is a '99 Limited with the Multi-matic transfer case, which means, full time 4wd. In my rig, the speed sensor is the ABS sensor. Since I went to a Full float axle out back, I have no speed sensors at all. So, currently my speedo doesn't work, but the GPS does a great job. I also didn't have the VSC or ATRAC. But, since I did have the Full Time 4WD, I had to trick the computer into thinking that the front diff was engaged by opening the front diff switch. When I do this, and then put my lever into 4wd, the electronic acutator will allow the transfer case to go into 4hi and 4lo, thus giving power to the front driveshaft.

Scheafer's is a 4cyl, which has a different method of picking up the speed sensor (I believe it gets a signal from the transfer case tail houseing). Hence his comment about his last SAS on a 3rd Gen 3.4L, "it's wierd". The 4cyl is easier to sas than the 3.4L V6 4Runners.

Anyhow, he has a great rig there. I would say the next mod is protection. That front bumper needs to go.

22K is pretty normal for a '01 limited.

The trick is in the multimode cases. 4 or 6 cylinders doesn't matter. The speedo needs to be non-ABS dependant. This means anything up through 2000 that is not multi-mode.

I know it would be cool to retain all that stuff, but if you need a solid axle, you don't need ABS, VSC, ODB, etc. Having a working speedo would be killer though.

The UA just happened over the 4th. Coverage should be a couple months out.

That would not be a 22k truck stock. Once you hang an axle, it is a keeper or you get robbed.

Yeah, same truck.

Wow, that FJ looks nice.

Ever since the new FJ has come out, that's all my wife has been talking about. She wants once so bad she can't stand it!

No, it was a mix of mostly All Pro and some others.

I will post some more when I get home, but keep an eye out in the Mags this month.

I had the speedo problem also because mine was abs dependent. I extended my rear abs sensors and hooked them back up on the rear and I have a speedometer again and no check engine light throwing the faulty speed sensor code.

I would have done this, but since I no longer have rear ABS sensors (FROR Full Floater) I can't do this. Oh well, I'll get around to it and figure something out.....

Some day I will probably do the full floated and be in the same situation.
