2001 Limited Dash Removal

2001 Limited Dash Removal
I just purchased a 2001 limited 4wd and I'm very happy with it. My previous truck was a '97 SR5 2wd and I had a cell phone mount installed in the dash. I can't seem to find instructions for removing the limited dash components and most important, whether or not I have to remove the automatic climate control panel. On the '97, I had to remove the knobs and then take the manual climate control faceplate off in order to get to the screws holding the center dash piece in place but I can't find instructions for the Limited and whether or not I need to remove the automatic climate control face. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

It's not that hard at all.
First. Open up the Arm Rest/Console.
Lift vertically the black cup holder assembly. It helps if the Emergency Brake handle is up. It is held by 4 clips at the base and two up top (by your arm rest). I usually grab thru the rubber area in the Emergency Brake lever hole and pull firmly up.
Now you can remove the panel around the 4WD and shift lever. That is held together by 4 clips. Just pull up and pry off the panel. It is pretty sturdy. You can completely remove this piece if you separate the leather 4WD boot from the panel. It also helps if you temporarily put the car in Neutral.
Now you can pry off the console panel. Start at the bottom and pull towards you. Work your way to the top. Disconnect the stuff at the top (Clock, Rear Window, Security Light). They are color coded and the wires are kind of molded into place. It is easy to plug them back in. Fold the console back onto the Shift Levers. That way you don't need to unplug all of the lighter adapters.

Thank you very much Phx. I figured it might be as simple as this. I actually don't think I'll even need to unplug the clock etc. as I just need to get to the screws that hold the radio in place to mount the phone mount. I was just concerned because on the '97, I was unable to get the plate surrounding the radio and climate controls off without first removing a couple of screws that were hidden behind the climate control panel. I'll post back here if I have any issues.
Thanks again!
