2000 4runner transmission prob with video.
1st post. Thanks for the great forum ,has helped me many times.
My transmission was replaced with a used tranny that had 80,000 miles, for $1500 at 160,000 miles. Radiator trans cooler mixed with trans fluid at around 170,000 miles. I flushed filled 3 times. 1 month ago the transmission started to not wanna down shift to first at a stop. I flush/ filled trans and it work fine for a month. Now it,s doing it again. My research leads me to think it,s wanna the solenoid in the trans. Can any1 give me links to the info about them.which 1,how to,info, ect.

dump fluid
Was thinking about draining the trans fluid and refilling to see if that clears up the issue again. 'think it,s a waste of fluid and time?
Are there any more details or vids I can post to help figure out whats going on with my tranny?
Any1

changed
thanks,no lights yet
Just changed. looked new. Auto parts store says it takes 2 quarts. More like 6!
but whatever
I,ll test and get back.
To drain really good I start and run through gears a few times. Then stop and repeat. gets like another 2 quarts out.

The clutch packs may be gone then thanks to the coolant mixing with the ATF. If that is the case (take it to a pro), look for another tranny (that seems what the video indicated IMHO).
BigballsMcfalls had similar problems with the milkshake and his tranny finally died.

clutchless manual
Took it around town. Still doing the same as in video.
It,s not slipping! If i put it in 1st at a stop then drive it works perfect.
What trans is doing in vid appears to be that it,s either staying in 2nd or 3rd.
Have been driving it like a clutchless manual transmission. works good. just a huge pain.
Any1 know about those soleniods from above?
thanks

One water get in a trans it's "game over".
You can't fix it by changing the fluid.
