2000 4Runner SR5 wierd flares

Hello all. I have been hooked to this site ever since I found it. The info you guys give is great. And I will be turning my Runner into one of a kind when funds come in. My first post is about the flares that I have. I can't seem to find many Runners with the flares that I have and it makes me wonder if I have the right ones on my rig. I recently took off the running boards and noticed the longer flare in the back and the noticably shorter in the front. Why is my Runner so different?

1. are they stock flares? (they look stock and are quite common)
2. try searching as the tips and tricks on dealing with this has been presented many times before.

The flares are like that to accomodate the running boards. You can add toyota mud flaps for those flare types which snug up to the void in the front. For the rears, you can leave it, or some have dremmelled that lower hanging portion off

Yes they are stock. I have searched and searched about this and none of the posts seem to talk about the ones I have. I did seem to find out that the front extension flaps run about $35 each. The way they are was making me think I have the highlander or badland edition runner. But it's hard to even find a picture like mine. My Runner was made 03/00 so maybe it was just the earlier 2000 Runners that were like these. Thanks for the reply.

yep stock, and yep you can have my stock flaps for $60 shipped if I can find them.... pm me if interested... I think i can find them still... they should be in good condition still, I used them for a bit, but the mounting holes in my 4runner were rusted so they never stayed on right, i'll look for them if you want me to

I had the same flares on my other 97. I took them off when i took off the running boards. It cleaned up the look and made it look even higher

Keep the flares since they protect the edge of the wheel wells and add the OEM front mudflaps. Check mine out....
