2.7 Deck Plate Mod?
Is there a way to do a deck plate mod on a 2.7L 4runner? The filter in the air box sits horizontally rather than vertically. Would doing this mod increase performance? Anyone with experience on this? Thanks.

I know that it can be done, and has been done, but I just haven't done it yet. Maybe someone else here has. Check out some TTORA boards and you'll find details.
Jim? You listening? Have you done your's?

After actually looking in the engine bay, i realized there are several ways, and how easy they are to do the mod. Thanks for the link for the visual!

I did the air box mod. Since I don't off road, mine is non-closeable. I cut a large rectangle hole on the front of the box, just behind the headlight. If you look at my pic, you'll see the top edge of some gutter-guard mesh I put inside of the hole. There are aftermarket air scoops that replace the metal trim under the headlights. They are from Japan and very expensive. I wish I could get those, perfect for ram air right into the air box...
