1st Gen Header Impressions....

How do all the different 22RE headers stack up against each other. Has there been any real world dyno results on any of the headers??

How did your 4runner change when you added the header?

No idea of a heads up FULLY DOCUMENTED Comparo out there?

I added my header at the same time as the cam and tons of other things....so I cant judge on the header alone. The Downey works for me on a budget! Bolted right up with NO PROBLEMS.

How much were the Downey headers?

What about prices on the others like Thorley's, Hedman, Northwest, LC?

I have a pace setter header and it made a huge difference over stock.I noticed a 1 gear difference climbing hills. It's not the best but it was only 160 bucks.I'll get a downey this winter when I get my new engine.

After doing just a little homework on PBB - it seems that the 22RE headers of choice are either LC engineering or Thorley. Seems like people don't like NWOR too much over there... I think it was customer service related and not as much product quality.

I think I'll be going for LC Engineering.

Rocky Road has Thorleys for $186, think I will go for them.

Never seena a back to back comparision, but think that they are all very similar in their benefits.

I was going to buy the LC header but couldnt wait (kept saying "youll have it next week") so I got a Downey.

Dont stop at the header though, finish the job with a cat or atleast an after-cat exhaust system, just dont go to big on pipe diameter.

Yeah, you notice the difference even more with the full exhaust.I have a 2 1/4 inch flowmaster system and I love it.
