1st Gen 4ruuner Frame Swap
I have an 87 4runner and I am about to purchase another 4runner that has had it (body has more holes than a block of swiss and the engine and tranny exploded long ago), I am not to sure but i think that it is an 84. Is it possible just to swap the bodies and engines from one to another?

are you talking about putting your 87 body on a 84 frame? is so, there are some differences, the biggest one is that the 84 frame has a solid front axle, which will work fine if you get a solid axle front drive shaft, you oil pan may or may not work with the 84 frame, never seen a ifs pan so I'm not 100% sure, the gas tank may be different because its a carb tank, not a problem if you use your tank and fuel lines

Tne oil pan on an IFS is different from a solid axel. The pumpkin on a solid front axel WILL hit the oil pan from a IFS. Guess how I know....go on.... guess. Dent in the oil pan...damaged seal...oil all over my driveway....Grrrrrrrrrr
