1999 Taco Door Lock Stuck
UPDATE: Still no fix, but I got the door to function somewhat. I still hear a ratcheting noise every time the door locks or unlocks, almost like a gear winding very quickly. This probably won't last too many more years, but it works for now.
Tonight, after I changed the oil in my taco, I took her out for a spin. When I got back home, I was a little surprised to find that I couldn't open my door. The electronic unlock/lock doesn't seem to affect the driver's side at all (the passenger side works fine still), and if I try to unlock manually from either the inside or the outside, I can get about halfway there, and then the lock switch/key won't budge any more.
I searched around a bit on the forums, and this post (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/door-stuck-64915/) seems identical to the issue I'm facing. The problem is that there wasn't really a resolution to that post as far as I can tell. The last post mentions something about a strike and this possibly being an issue with a spring in the lock mechanism, but it's all sort of vague and there isn't really a whole lot of instruction.
Is anyone familiar with this issue and how to fix it?
