1998 4Runner Shifter Bushing and Seat Part (Canada). Can I use 2nd Gen Part?

I am thinking about replacing the shifter bushing + seat on my 3rd gen 1998 4Runner with 300,000kms.

We get screwed up here in Canada for parts. I checked with the dealer and they want $80 just for those two small pieces of plastic. I've done the bushings on my 2nd gen 95' using dealer parts and it was only $30-ish. So I am just wondering if the bushing + seat from the 2nd gen can be used in the 3rd gen?

Or better yet, does anyone know of a good source to buy these in Canada? They are very hard to find!

Are you talking about the plastic ring that fits down inside the transfer case shift hole?

Sorry, I am having trouble understanding what part you are speaking about.

Shifter seat is the rubber piece that the gear shift lever pivots on, and the bushing is the plastic cup that goes on the bottom of the lever.
Maybe you can order them from somewhere in the US. The seat is pricey even here. Around $40 I think and $5 for the bushing. Is it worth the hassle over $30?

Based on Marlin's site, it looks like at least the seat is not the same:

Looks like this one only works for 1988-1995 R150fs. So no 3rd gens.

I see some AST aftermarket ones that only go for $20 or less for the set. It's just hard getting them shipped to Canada.

From the Marlin website, I think it seems that the white one is indeed universal for the 2nd and 3rd gen R150F transmissions. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems the blue seat is for the transfer case lever and not the 5-speed lever.

Nevertheless, I think I may have found a local supplier for these Marlin parts. Just want to make sure I am getting the right part.

Where in Canada are you? If close to the boarder just get an address there. I get my marlin stuff shipped to Blaine and pick it up. It's absolutely ridiculous some of the prices we pay up here for the exact same parts.
