1996 Tacoma 3.4 Overheating nothings worked so far

Went through the same deal last year. Threw parts at it like nobody's business. Had two cylinders at 125 psi. One on each side. Still didn't seem bad with the others at 140. Finally pulled a head I thought was leaking. gasket and head looked good. I said " ˟˟˟ it" and decided to do an engine swap. When we pulled the engine, there was piston ring pieces in the oil pan. I used all the new parts I threw at it (Water pump, belts, pulleys, tensioner, radiator) on the new engine. Set me back about $3,000.
