1996 4Runner attempted break in now driver door broken
Hi,
I have a 1996 Toyota 4Runner. I had someone put a stucco nail through my lock cylinder and break out my door handle trying to get inside, they weren't able to get into the vehicle but it left my drivers door unable to open.
I was able to get the panel off from inside without opening the door (PITA), and get the door open. I was able to identify the problem, the latch that pulls up on the door to open it had come off. I tried to put an aftermarket door handle in but the latch keeps slipping off the nub that opens the car door. I think I need a whole assembly but I've been trying to search but I can't find any that are for sale.
Any tips would be useful. Stucco nail through lock Broken handle This is the part that slips over the nub (the part with the hole)
that yellow clip is broken, replace it if you can find one. put it in the handle first then the rod and rotate the clip until it latches the rod in place
