Is it even worth the time and hassle for a 1inch body lift? I just see it not being much of improvement except for maybe squeezing bigger tires. I was looking at getting the 2inch body lift for a 1995 4runner. What do you guys think? Its auto, so i dont understand completely what the issues i would run into, even if i buy it from 4crawlers. Can anyone help me understand?

No, b/c you're lifting via the suspension and not pushing the body up higher from the frame.

Would there be a gap between a "stock" front bumper and grill? I've been thinking of a 1" BL

Nope.

Here's a 4Runner w/ a 2" BL installed:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/f...runner-141608/

And one with a 3" BL installed:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/3...d-love-134950/

The stock bumper does not have a gap on either.

Edit:

Here's some more good photos of a 2" BL (same 4Runner from the 1st link above):
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/a...s-pics-134077/

Therefore, 1" would be fine.

If you're talking about mine, then yes, it already has a lift on it. (Check out my lift thread: Click Me .) I just wanted 1" more lift .

For more info on my 4Runner, click the "my profile" link in my sig.

i was wondering, do you think your 1" BL lift would clear some 285/70/17 on a third gen with stock height??

or would i need a 2" or 3" BL kit?

Does anybody have a pic of the body mount bolts we have to knock the lock washer things off of? I can't find one and I'm too lazy to pull the carpet back in the cold.
Thanks

Hey Rockslide, what kind of tranny shifter do you have? Does it have the button on the side to manipulate the gear selection or the thumb style on top? I have the pistol grip style, thumb button on top, and I'm thinking I may have clearance issue b/c the rubber shifter (part your hand goes around) comes about an inch from the shifter console. I know the other style with the shifter button on the side have a ton of room. I'll get pics to better describe what I'm talking about.

Well other than mine being the wood grain pattern it looks identical to that but I don't think I have that much clearance at the bottom of the shifter pad. I'm thinking that when I raise the body up an inch that the rubber part of the shifter will hit the console.

WAIT A SECOND!! I may be over thinking this since my last Toyota was a standard shift and didn't have linkage going to an auto trans. This whole discussion made me see the light. The auto trans shifter is bolted to the body so it will go up the same 1" where as the standard shift goes directly into the tranny and will not which is why extended shifters are used.

Got it in my mind now, sometimes helps to talk it out.
SPANKS!!!
