Nope, no rear or front locker. Only a Torsen Center Differential lock which is standard on all 4WD versions.

I am curious why they would put them in the Taco and not the 4runner?

good question. then again, the LC's lost it's lockers too so go figure.

the 05 taco's will still have the rear locker on the trd package.

you can purchase an aftermarket locker though for the 4th gen 4runners.

good luck

Probably because Toyota realized that most people who buy 4Runners these days are yuppies who can't tell a locker from a double latte.

Let's face it, most of them never see dirt. It's just market demographics.

You are right about that, but they should make it an option. How good is the Torsen system limited-slip differential off-road?

The LSD system actually works well. It works alot better than the 2000-2002 model. They have done a great job in working on their electronics.

Alot of members has been impresed by the new 4th gen's ability to tackle alot of trails that people didn't think was possible (looking beyond the lack of ground clearance). I've been able to do some mildly difficult trails w/o my rear locker so I know it works good enough for the average joe. Ofcourse it's not a rear locker but it's way better than open diff
