01rnrgirl's 2001 4Runner Build-Up Thread
This is kind of late... but I guess its better late than never
Bought a bone stock 2001 limited 4runner with about 78k miles on it back in 2006.
About a year after I bought it I decided that I wanted bigger tires... However, in order to get bigger tires I needed to lift it a tad.... I ended up putting a 3" Revtek spacer lift and a 3" 4Crawler body lift on it....and originally put a set of 33's on it... I wasnt happy with 33's so I went with the 35" Cooper STT's. I bought the Coopers in 2008..... And in 2009 I upgraded to the Tundra brakes...
This pic was a couple months ago at Ocean Shores.
Just for kicks I decided to see what I could get away with by putting 37s on it... it rubbed like crazy.... I took it up in the snow like that and it chowed through the snow pretty good
In July 2011 my original Cooper's were ready to be replaced (approx 80K on them, rotated every 7500). I went and bought another set of Cooper STTs (because I was so happy with the first set) and decided to go with a set of black steelies.
I couldnt stop at the new wheels and tires, so I decided to get some Trail Gear rock sliders as well......Thanks to Levi and Vitaly for the weld help and to Jason for the paint. Thanks to Tofer for ordering the sliders through Trail Gear.
Next up will be re-gearing to 4.88s, front and rear bumpers from TrailDemon Fabrication, and I am going to paint the grey parts around my fenders and bottoms of the doors black to match the sliders and rocker panels. Yay!!
