Hey Twisted... I think he's saying he gets "325" total, cuz the last 1/4 tank he's lucky to ge 25mi. Most every toyota I've owned has stayed on full for 30 miles, then down to half tank takes it's time, ...then POOOOOOF, lol... then last 1/8th tank seems to last forever again. Strange stuff, lol.

Chef... sounds like you have driven my trucks. I should of worded it better.
I get 200 on the first half of the tank and lucky if I get a hundred on the last half.
I had posted earlier but it didnt make it to your thread. The frame looks clean and it always nice when you get a lot more then you were expecting when you got the complete gear set up.
Rob, are making fast progress. Keep up the great work.

yeah, those numbers are right. it's about what i got. i actually have gotten more than 400 on occasion... but that was back in '08...
the reason for the sharp drop-off at the end is because the fuel sender is at the top of the tank, with an arm that swings down. the first 9 gallons or so move the arm about the same, but the rest move the arm a lot. if the arm's pivot was at the bottom, it would be opposite; the first ¼ tank would go by in 25 miles, and the last ¼ would take forever to deplete

Thanks Terry, I have been hitting it hard to get as much done as possible before my next big wheeling trip coming up in 2-1/2 weeks. It's a 3 day event with my local wheeling group. I still have a long list of things left to do so expect good progress for the next couple weeks.
- Replace sagging trans mount
- Repair and reinstall exhaust, take it to the exhaust shop
- Install rear axle shims
- Install new fuel sending unit
- Replace shifter linkage that I mangled while installing BL
- Replace rear 3rd and front diff with the 5.29's
- Fix drivers side manual hub
- Throw (fab) together a quick and dirty rear bumper, just something to get me by
- Weld on my rock sliders
- Weld on my front frame brace
- Raise front bumper mounts.
I could keep going but I think I will stop there. Last night all I managed to do was get the new diffs cleaned up and ready to go in, also put all of my tools away and got the garage organized again. I decided to go to bed early and catch up on some rest so that I would be ready to get something done today after work.

You get all of that done in 2 1/2 weeks you got something accomplished. The wheeling trip adds incentive to get it done. 3 days of wheeling ought to be nice. Sounds like you havent been in a while. Gets some pics when you do go. Ive learned shipping is never early. Never on the day I can get things done, but the next day.

I just ordered a couple of these Liquid Caddy's

They are a little pricey but really cool.

I have my 99C store Over the Door hinge Cup holder that I put in my Console upper lid and let it sit on the pass. seat right up against the console....I then put my cold bev in the can insulator foam thing and then slide it in the cup holder, ..VOILA, 2$ and I'm keepin cold drinks near me! hahahaha. That thing looks really sturdy!

LOL, I know a couple of guys that have these in their wheeling rigs and they pivot 2 directions and keep your cold beverage of choice upright and level on any terrian. You can turn the bottom to make them adjust to any size beverage and they telescope to make them longer for taller drinks.

Becuse I raised the transmission with the DT lift I also changed the drive shaft angle. I decided as a precaution and to keep my driveshaft happy to install some 4 degree angled axle shims. I got these from suspension connection for under $25, they come with a new longer center pin for you leaf springs.
Here they are with the old center pin removed and the new longer pin bolted in and holding the shim to the leaf pack.
Installation complete. For only being 4 degress they made a noticeable difference in the angle of the differential. Now the flange is point more in an upwards direction and this will surely help with drive shft angle.

Good deal on the shims, I might need some to since using the longer shackles. Even though you raised the t-case, did it actually tilt? Have to ask because you also raised the engine right? It was my understanding if the flanges are still parallel to one another that the actual angle of the driveshaft doesn't matter as far as vibrations go. U-joint wear is a different story.

That was my logic, can't hurt
Yes I raised the engine and transfer case both 2", so no the case is not tilted. The axle is now titled with the shims in, so the faces are not parrallel. I guess I will just have to get it on the road and see if I have any vibes or not.

If you had not shimmed the axel there is a chance that you could have bound up the u joint under load when you had the runner flexed out also it being at less of an angle makes it less likely to break in that situation and yes this should help keep the vibration monster away or make it less of a vibration than if you had not done the shims
