Does any one care to drop me that link for the FSM? I need to read up on swapping out and adjusting the dentent cable on my auto trans. The one I have only pertains to the engine

rob I got to ask ya, you went with poly bushings for the leaf springs right? If so which ones? I am leaning towards the energy ones cus reports say they are a little softer then the prothanes. I know a little flex will be lost according to off-road.com (about 1" not sure that's down travel or up and down combined though).
Any worries on twisting up leaf springs and breakage with the poly? I think I've heard that somewhere, but not sure if you have other experience with them then what your gonna put on the downey's.

I did install polly bushings, but they came with the springs and I am not sure what brand of bushings that Downey supplied with their kits. I did a quick scan of my old Downey catalog and I am inclinded to say that they are Energy brand, but it's not made very clear. I doubt that the bushings will cause you to twist up ypur springs as long as re-locate your bump stops accordingly. I intend on setting my bumpstops on top of the U-bolt flip plate and raise them to hit right before the leaf starts to negative arch.

doesn't the shackles twist anyway though when you flex the rear? With the poly they won't twist as much if not at all. Which means the springs would have to twist right? This is regardless of where the dump stops are located I would think. Especially when your full droop on one side and full stuff on the other. This is why they have creeper joints to allow for more miss alignment of the spring vs shackle.

OK, I see what you are saying, sorry I'm alittle slow today. The bushings where not THAT hard as to not allow any movement. They might limit it some but it's not they they are aluminum, they where flexable enough for me to squeeze in my hand. Maybe I should look into some trick shackles? I'm going wheeling this weekend hopefully so I'll let you know what happens.

Got the springs in last night. With factory overload leaf cleaned and painted, ready to go in.
Installed
I didn't bother cleaning up the U-bolts and plates since they are going in the trash as soon as my U-bolt flip gets here.
After ride height, didn't gain anything at all, maybe a 1/4"
Springs are MUCH softer!
I couldn't do a real flex test but I did use my floor jack to feel it out. I could have gone alot furthur but I limited out my jack. I need to do a fork lift test.
I can tell you for sure that it wouldn't do this with the old springs so I am confident that the flex has improved greatly.

Order status for my U-bolt flip kit and shock mounting tabs - Shipped and on the way
Also ordered yesterday:
2" 4crawler Ultimate Body lift w/ HD hardware
2" 4crawler motor mount spacers
4crawler was very upfront about it taking several weeks to ship an order due to current shop back log.
Waiting to hear back from Budbuilt about a new transfercase cross member with built in 2" drivetrain lift
Also ordered yesterday:

Went to see my county tax collector today, fees, fees and more fees, but I did get these. Finally one step closer to being street legal. Now getting it to pass inspection will be another story all together.

wow , they changed the plates since the last time I had TX plates. I actually had my old TX plate in my hand a few hours ago. lol.
BTW: You can still see your plate number on the paperwork.

I am not worried about posting my plate number, not sure why some people are. As long as I don't try to rip anyone off or act like a douche I should be fine, lol
