I am looking into using FJ80 tie rod ends & machining my own adjuster sleeves. I would have to enlarge the taper on my knuckles but can't seem to figure out what deg. the taper is. Anybody have an idea?

How about no tie rod ends at all? Leaning pretty hard on this option now. I wonder what the alignment shop would have to say about it?

I am pretty suprised at how nice of shape these are in, they need to be cleaned up a bit, but the clearcoat is still intact & no dings. Pretty good trade IMO.

Been following your build for a while Rob...awesome paint job!!! Great score on the stock alloys, did you pick up the 33's yet?

Thanks to both of you, the runner is a work in progress but I think it is starting to take shape, still have lots more planed for it. I am especially glad to hear that others find it informative.

Far as the tires go, there was a delay, but I spoke with the seller last night & have plans to drive to Houston & pick them up tomorrow after work. I'm getting 5 tires, still trying to track down a 5th wheel, I plan on fabing a mount & attaching it to the roll bar. I am pretty sure that the new tires are not going to fit without some serious rubbing so I am thinking about de-comissioning the 4runner for awhile & work on my next big mod.....the drive train lift.

Stay tuned guys, I will be fabbing every componet myself so this could get interesting.

Ooooooh, Fabrifamacation! Hehehe, ..... Love your work AND ATTITUDE, Rob! Can't wait to see this thing, temporarily finished(yeah, ...cuz they're NEVER FINISHED when we start modding on them, eh? hahaha).

Great work, man. Can't find the 5th Stockie Alloy? Hmmmmm. No yards have it either, eh?

Best of luck! Let me know if you want one shipped from a yard out here, ...I'd GLADLY pick one up for ya and ship it out flat rate or whatever.

Mark

I am really looking forward to starting the cutting for the drive train lift.

Thanks for the offer Mark, truth is that I haven't tried very hard to find one. I have a freind who has a complete set, but he doesn't want to seperate them. I am also not only looking for one, but one that is really cheap. If I can't get one then I'll let you know.

Got my tires last night! Pretty happy with the deal. 1 of then has a minor cut on the treads, I will use it as the spare. Hopefully I will have the time to get them mounted on my rims today.....hopefully.

YEAHHHHH, look at those bad boys! Man, they look great, Rob, ...I mean, seriously, they look almost brand new! I hope you got them for a STEAL AND A HALF! hahaha. I've priced those.....they aint cheap! lol. Plus, I wouldn't sport those 98% of the time around L.A. .....Yeah, I'm not "one of those', hahaha, don't worry, lol.

Great to see, ...can't wait to see them on there, GONNA BE SWEEEEET~!

HOLY MACKEREL! GREAT DEAL! I guess you'll have some extra rims for the heck of it, eh? I see you're running 17's on your runner. Are these new ones 17's? If they are, they YOU REALLY got a great deal....anything over 15 is ALWAYS more expensive, right?

PICS WITH THEM ON, PICS WITH THEM ON! hehehehe. 'Salivating' over here! lol.

No no, the 17's are on my Taco, yes the BFG AT's on that truck where VERY pricey. I am going to use the stock 15" alloys, same wheels as on you 4runner with the mud terrains.

I got the tires mounted on my aluminum wheels, only to run into a problem. Appears as though I have the wrong lug nuts. Should have thought of that before. I have acorn style for my steel wheels but need some shank (or what ever they are called, lol) style for the alloy wheels. I called Napa, but they only have 8 in stock & they are $2.60 a piece x 24 equals $62.40 plus tax. I might hit up a junk yard or something. I need one more aluminum wheel & 2 center caps anyways. I really wanted to put the wheels & tires on to see how they look & fit, but it might be a couple days now.

Didja "surf" for em online? Can't be too difficult to find an aftermarket set for cheaper than 62$.... but I bet it is, right? hahaha. Best wishes, hope you get it going QUICK LIKE!
