Thanks Chef! I am pretty excited too, but it doesn't look like i am going to get my BJ spacers cut as soon as I was hoping. Just crossing my fingers that they are done by the end of the week.

Keep positive about your truck man, I'm sure that UPS is just right around the corner. Did you get a tracking number? I am sure praying that the new AFM fixes you problem, it almost has too, considering that everything else has been replaced or tested already. If it doesn't then I can start overnighting you parts off of my truck untill we find the problem. I don't drive it anyways, just need it back in running order by the 25th of this month.

Last night with the help of a couple of good buddies I installed my spartan locker in the rear diff. I know this install has been documented several times so I am not going to do a full write up, but I took a bunch of pictures in the process & welcome anyone to feel free to ask me any question you might have regarding the installation.

First order of buisiness was to remove the axles & 3rd member.

After a good cleaning I used a paint marker to mark EVERYTHING to be sure that it all goes back together the same way it came aprt. A's on one side & B's on the other.

Mark & remove ring gear.

Spider gears out & new locker parts going in.

Everything is installed into the carrier.

Carrier back in

I do feel it is worth mentioning that unlike the lock-rites I have installed, you do NOT reuse these thrust washers.

I got the 3rd member re-installed into the axle housing, still need to bleed the brakes but I also have some front brake work to do so I decided to wait. I am really looking forward to trying this thing out!

Thanks Chef, LOL yeah no booty fab going on here. I actually was just having a disagreement with another member in another thread about fabbing you own parts, I say that you can in some cases make you own parts that are just as good if not better than some of the made in China crap on the market. Not to mention the satisfaction of having made them your self & when your mod budget is as tight as mine is, you will certianly appriciate keeping your cash in your pocket for something else.

Yeah, I've seen some GREAT fab's on this site, and even with the BJ's, ....if you have the specs(and more importantly SKILL, lol), why not, right?

Man do I hear you about the cash to debt ratio....2 kids, 2 car payments & a morgage, my toys & hobbies come last in our budget.

Next wheeling trip planned for the cream puff is on Saturday June 26th, 12 days from today. I thought I would put together a list of things I need to get wrapped up by then.

1. New front brake pads & rotors, bleed brakes.
2. Install BJ spacers & rear shackles.
3. Repair the transfercase mount & shifter linkage.
4. Replace transmission filter & fluid.
5. Adjust trans. cable at throtle body
6. Install idler arm.
7. Fab new rear bumper brackets.
8. Adjust valves.
9. Change motor oil.
10. Finish gauge install.
11. Make new bikini top parts.
12. New CB antenna mount & re-tune.
13. Change oil in front diff.

I had better get to work.

Maybe even Less Lumpy, the trick is going to be scavanging enough time to do it all. Between working 55 hours a week, the wife & 2 kiddos, I will probablly be working on it for an hour here & an hour there. If I could just get one solid day to wrench I am sure I could get it all done.

Jk, like I can talk., .....anyway, You'll get'er'done, son! lol. You seem to be pretty apt at this, ...plus, you have AN AGENDA ANDDDDDDDD OBJECTIVE! ......"MUST BE DONE", GRUNT, GRIMACE, SCRAPE OF KNUCKLE, "BY 26TH! GET OUTTA THERE CALIPER BOLT!!!!" And so, it's as good as done in 7 Hours, 34 Minutes and 22 Seconds!

lol.....Wishin you the best, Rob...wish I was closer, I'd definitely lend you a hand(whatever that's worth, hahaha)

I'm with you Chef! I know I can get it all done. I actually made that list in order of priority. 1-7 are things that MUST be done & 8-13 are thinks I would LIKE to get done.

Hmmmmmmmm,

"8. Adjust valves.
9. Change motor oil.
10. Finish gauge install.
11. Make new bikini top parts.
12. New CB antenna mount & re-tune.
13. Change oil in front diff."

....I think 8, 9 and 13 could be important, no? hahaha. Jk, I bet those last are recently done and you're thinking, "Yeah,.....no need to be anal about it, ....how about first things first", ....right? lol.

BTW, that thing was Blueberry Blue, right? I noticed a pic with that flat blue peeking through, hahaha. Moze sports that, ...love that color too. Can't wait to see your pics from the trip, Brudda! Sure wish I had time and money to hit that trip with 92 and Xxxtreme! Oh yeah, they've deputized Swimmerboy as well! lol.

Talk to you soon, I'm trying to GET OUT THERE from the kitchen...gotta list from Flecker to double check, ....must complete mission, .....having wrench withdraws! hahaha
