Almost ready to but a locker for the rear end. It will probablly be another week or 2. Trying to decide between a Lockright, Aussie or the new Spartain locker. Any input?

i have heard nothing but good news about the aussie locker. I tried getting one in the rear of mine, but the diff exploded not because of the locker though i might add. Lockrights are also great lockers. From where i read on here Aussie is better designed than lockright. As for Spartan locker never heard of them. good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I have heard great thing about the Aussie also. Buddy has a lockright & it works well. The Spartian lockers are new so I a little worried about them, but they are supposed to have a better pin design.

I never got around to driving on my aussie, but aussie because of their design are quieter than lockrights and last just as long as a toyota... plus if i remember right they are cheaper as well?

I was also skimming around on a jeep forum talking about this and apparently Spartan Lockers are recommended for light vehicles (thats us) and tires smaller than 32" in diameter. Where aussie has a warrenty no matter the tire size. and the lockright was designed for tires up to 31"

Price wise they are all with in $25 of each other so that is not going to be a deciding factor. From all of my reading, I think that the Aussie is the best bet, but I am still open to considering the other 2 options. My truck sucked bad last weekend at the off-road park & I am not going to let that happen again.

Damn, sorry to hear that. Lockers armor and some decent tires are where its at starting right out is where i was told to go, even though a sas 350 swap 40" tires and dual transfer cases sound amazing

I'm trying to get there, on a pretty tight budget & thinking that for the money, the locker would be the best bang for my buck. A set of 33" tread wrights are going to be next on the list, but I am trying to make due with what I have for now. This 4runner is just an off-road toy for me & it is going to be a slow build, things should pick up towards the end of this year when I pay off my Tacoma.

Yea i was getting there until my parents took the toyota back on regards that i broke the agreement... (i call shenanigans) but i think the stock skid plates are adequate for most trails.

If you want a cheap lift i put 1.5" Bj's on the front and some 14" racing coils rated at 125lbs each between the frame rails and springs. it gave me a net ~2" lift without longer shackles in the rear... along with some cranking of the Torsion bars theres a small lift thats roughly ~250 total and cures the saggy butt! I found the idea from ZUK who is on here

I'm against of cranking up on the t-bars. It will stiffen the ride and give less leaving you with even less flex. But that's just me...

Yea, it is true, but it would get ride of some of the stink bug ride you kinda get from it

I am thinking that I can machine my own BJ spacers for now (I work at a machine shop for crying out loud) & add some SAW t-bars, with some ZUK coils in the rear. I am also against cranking stock T-bars. In my oppinion flex is more important than ride hieght. If you can keep your tires on the ground then you aren't going anywhere. In the long run I would like to end up with the Blazeland LT kit, but that will be a little ways down the road.

I have never heard about the Blazeland LT kit, but i have heard of the TC LT kits... Its a lot cheaper, but have you seen or heard of it perform against an TC?

No, I haven't, but the TC kit is way out of my price range. One thing that I like about the Blazeland kit besides the price it that it uses factory Toyota parts in alot of places. Such as the T-100 CV shafts, If I break one I can get a replacement at Napa for a reasonable price instead of having to order one from TC for an arm & a leg.

Yea i like the TC kit, but i dont have work (or a truck at the moment). Yea i didnt even think about that though. And from looking on the forum it seems that you can build the blazeland kit yourself if you can weld...

LOL, there has to be at least some technical talk or the mods might shut my thread down. I'm just bouncing ideas around, haven't made any pic worthy progress. Today is my anniversery so when I get off work around noon, I guess I have to spend some time with the wife. Tommorow is my little girls 4th b-day party, so no progress happening this weekend. Maybe next week.
