When i tried bleeding my brakes i couldn't get a straight stream i took out the cylinder and sprayed PB blaster in the cylinder, cleaned up the bleed valve and it worked for me...

New parts still look pretty bling though

Sorry it's been so long since I updated the thread, I did get the brakes to bleed, seems the wheel cylinders where rusted up & not moving at all. Drove it around the block a few times & it ran great! So I rigged up my bikini top & put it on thwe trailer for a weekend of offroading at Shilo-Ridge offroad park in Alto Texas. I wheeled the truck for 2 solid days & had a blast! No mechanical issues besides the Alternator is not charging. I could wheel for a bout 2 hours on a full charge, then I would take it back to camp & put it on my battery charger for an hour or so. I guess I am going to rebuild the Alt., just didn't have time before the meet.

I was very impressed at how it handled it's self off road, I had no problems keeping up with all of the Tacomas in my group. Even with street tires, no lift & no lockers I went everywhere they did & then some. A few pics from the trip.

Yeah she's still got it! I think that everyone was impressed. She was by FAR the oldest truck in the fleet. Second oldest was on 02 TRD Taco, everything else was 05+ Tacomas. She taught the kids a few lessons!! Tacomas with 3" lift & 33" KM2's with a difflock couldn't (or wouldn't) go where she did!

Thanks! I actually have that pic on my desktop right now lol.

Last night I took a gamble & drove the 4runner out of my neighborhood with no liscense plates, no registration sticker, no inspection, no seat belts & no insurance to the car wash & spent $14 trying to get all of the mud off of it. I got away with it as far as breaking the law goes but I really should have put the hard top back on first. While the plan was to keep this project as an "off-road only" toy, I think I am going to see about getting it street legal. It will def. need some odds & ends to pass inspection. Oooh yeah & my ice pretty motor......it's all covered in brown / red mud now . Gonna try & get it clean again tonight & see about installing my Tach, oil pressure & water temp gauges.

seriously...that's a sweet pic.

how NOT legal is it?

if it only needs belts. no biggie, easy to do, much easier than what you just did.

had to catch up on several days of YOTATECH....all caught up now. when I work, I work few days in a row, lotsa hours, then off (like I'm off until Friday now).....

waiting on my parts to come....not really in the mood for anything today anyway, we will see what i do.

are those aftermarket gauges you are talking about.....i want to get the 3 gauge cluster w/ volt...oil pressure and water temp, but are they a pain to set up?

As far as passing inspection goes, it needs seat belts (have them already), horn & probably exhaust work. No sure if it is supposed to have a catilitic converter or not but it doesn't & who knows what else.

The gauges I got are a mechanical 2 gauge cluster with oil pressure & water temp. I got them as a birthday present from my foks. I will figure it all out & let you know exactlly how it is all done.

These are the gauges I have, nothing fancy but they should work just fine. I am not going to keep them in that chrome consol thing they come in. I am thinking about mounting them either where the stereo goes (where my CB is going to go) or possibly in the dash where the 2 center ac vents are.

how much of a PITA to install. I'm all for running wires and all but what about the actual important sensors and stuff?

It's not hard at all, you just gotta find out where to hook them up & I am going to take care of that part for you.
