Well the way I am I had to temporarily hook the sender up and what do you know, I got fuel level again.

Now I am gonna temporarily hook that other sender I got from the junk yard up just to see if it gives me a different fuel level. Got between a half and 3/4 in there now.

Well, put the junkyard gauge in and as I expected, doesn't show more than 3/4 tank when in the "full" mode. When empty it shows empty, when I placed it in the tank it shows 1/2 tank when the oem was showing 3/4. Which means that gauge sender came out of a 25 gallon tank? hmmm ok whatever. Not worried about that. lol. Using the original one.

I got all the new connectors hooked up somewhat moisture proofed them with some RTV on the sender side with some heat shrink as well as some heat shrink on the connectors. Still gonna have to tape off the physical connections. I also RTV both sides of the rubber gasket to hold the sender in place. Lets hope it holds and doesn't let water in my tank. Should be ok though since I loaded it pretty good.

Guess what workies again?

Nice work, man! Hope the weatherproofing, etc., keeps her snug for a long time!

Wait, you're putting the other one back in? So, it works, you just had to rewire it? ...Ok, I'm off to work at the Luxe! lol.

Cool, so once you swap in the original with the 'redone' wiring, you'll be golden, with accurate Fuel Level Sensing? lol.

PS> off topic, but you should see some of the SWEEEET B'mers and otherwise at the the Luxe when I've had to go there. HOLY CRAPOLI, B, ..... I read up on Auto Trends, often, but some of these?... NEVER HEARD OF THEM, let alone seen em, lol. I guess they ship em from Europe and Japan, eh? lol. Saw a Supra Concept 2011 Car last time. It looked WAY sweeter than those pics I saw on a thread a while back. SICK, actually, lol. Sounded like a Lambo, too! Twin Turbo, etc.... The Valet told me, "yeah, he is nice, shoots the crap with us all the time... he's a Toyota Steel Trading Executive, something like that... So they give him a car every year, or more if he wants it", hahaha. DANG, that sucks, right? lol...NOT! lol. Also saw this Lexus I've never knew was coming... Some new SC-S thing, really beefy coupe, WICKED how it sat, very mean sounding motor and looked NOTHING like the more recent coupe.

Sorry man.... get riled up about sweet rides! lol

Note to self:

When taping off two electrical connectors, DO NOT tape the connectors together when they are not individually taped to prevent themselves from touching together.

lol.

yup, I now know what my fuel level is. And now know just because the fuel level don't work on the gauge, it's not necessarily the sender itself, but could be just severely corroded wires.

Now to throw out that junk yard one, because it's bad. only cost me $10 so I can't complain. haha.
