I like the engineering, pretty cool idea. Glad to see you got the issue sorted.

SO far so good. Still running and pulling like a champ. Although I almost lost a wheel. 4 out of my 6 lug nuts on one of my wheels came all thje way loose and two weren't far behind on one of my wheels. I hope that's not a sign to come with these lug nuts and wheels.

As for the Silla, I still recommend it to anyone despite the ones giving flack for getting it. It's held up nicely. I do still overheat on occasion, but with the amount of mud I get on this thing, I can't fault the radiator. Hasn't cracked, leaked or anything like that when I hit the water with it.

The BB's seem to be doing ok for the most part as well for balancing the tires.

Cool! Thanks for the feedback. I ordered the identical radiator under a different name from GenesisAutoParts.com. I'm looking forward to seeing the improvement over the junky rad I have now.

hahaha... TOTALLY laughing at myself right now... Just NOW got that... I read it the other day, and for some reason it just registered as "putting them in his engine"... But COMPARTMENT, YES! The first "22R-CHIA PET!"

well, not so good news. That rapping I had, yeah well.....

Found my cause. Hopefully no effect and my pistons didn't meet valves. I bet that's the master link that broke. So, when someone tells you it almost impossible for a 22r chain to break, you can call B.S. lol

Broken steel rail timing chain guide.

Broken "bright colored" master link.

That's not supposed to be there!!!!

See those two bolts? They did have heads on them when they went in!!!!

This WAS straight at one point!!!!

The bolt that is completely beheaded was somewhat loose. The other was still snug. Looks like this was rubbing for a while based on what the metal chain guide is telling me. Probably longer then I thought. hmmmmm

Good news is once I get this engine back together, it's coming out with the transmission and transfer case and this truck is getting sold. Yes I said SOLD. Got someone interested in it and if they don't attempt to talk me down it going for $500 without the engine and drivetrain. Wheels are staying and not sure on the tires yet.

However....... I have a live on an 83 single cab pickup with no drivetrain, 3" body lift and what appears to be a mild spring lift. For get this....$500. Almost like getting and even swap.

Now I can see them. So looks like the tensioner went prematurely?

Either that or the two bolts loosened up. Look at the tensioner video.

Timing cover is toast too :

BTW it's not fun working around all this mud. lol.

Take note what's missing, compare a photo of a new one if you don't see it.

I'm really sorry, Brandon... What a.... well, concerning thing for MANY running this kit(Sounds like a freak/fluke thingy...But still, haha)... But hey, sounds like it'll work out like you'd like in the end, right? SFA Lifted lil 83 beast? MAN I miss my 83!

This has me curious as well. I have that kit and I ALWAYS seem to have, IMHO, a bit too much 'RATTLE' in the morn, if YKWIMean? After that, its' silent. Has me curious on the tentioner AND Oil pump. I have 2 toyota filters that've been on there now... and neither loses oil/fall back valve works. Course, I'm not SURE there's anything wrong with the oil pump...BUT, 2 motors now with the same pump, different crank and rods, new rings, clean pick up tube... And a sound like it's starving off the bat? NO LIKEY!

WOW, did the chain come down and shave off the housing that goes around the cranks chain-drive gear?

I did what they said to a level of being obsessed about getting it right! haha... " Do NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES overtighten the tensioner bolts beyond 12#".........

WTH, MAN ! ? ! ?

dang sorry to see what happened...good thing I peeked at your thread. Doesn't the engnbldr kit come with an oem osk tensioner? I used a complete osk timing kit so still has me worried. I hope I torqued those bolts correctly...crap

Sucks B.
I have access to TC covers and other 22r / 22re stuff. Let me know if you decide to fix it and if I can help.
