Right on, B! Congratz, can't wait for video or something! Yep, maybe you could get something like my 8.5MM magnacores? Would that help with the HO ignition?

they would, thinking about the magnecor's. $30.80 for the 7mm, $32.20 for the 8mm and $60.90 for the 8.5mm competition wires.

60$ at LCE, really? I thought they were less.... Hmmm, nope, yeah, you're right. I got them with the billet wire loom, same time... and was surprised how the wires were quite a bit more, lol.

Yeah, I don't think I paid that from LCE.... not sure why. I think it was free shipping, too.

did you get the 8.5's or the 8's? because there is a huge difference in price between the comps and the 7/8mm wires.

I saw that, but I think it's just to hold the coil wire to the OEM coil.

Oh that reminds me the coil wire is kinda funky the way the boot is. Doesn't go on quite right. Gonna have to figure out what to do with that.

I thought it was for just that....so you could remove the stock boot that it comes with, then put on that boot for the HEI coil....NO?

have no clue. lol. Nowhere on this coil to clip anything on. Must be for a different style. HEI is usually a GM thing.

hmmm interesting mightymouse. I wonder if the theory works with the v-powers which are the ones I usually use. Might have to try this with just the standard NGK coppers.

$40 from a guy off here. New the kit w/coil would be around $230 from summit. Keep in mine I didn't get any of the extra connectors etc etc with this either. But still worth it IMO.

HELLZ YEAH! lol. Seriously, you sound like you REALLY like the difference, and seeing that I've put so much into this thing, I wondered if it would be a good investment if I ever come across one at a steal or even on sale or something, ya know?

Just got done takin this thing for a test drive. Holy cow, it made a huge improvement below 2500 RPM as far as throttle response and pickup. It's still a dog with 31's and 4.10's but it's definitely noticeable. Now mind you, I still have the old plugs in but just re-gapped to .035. Did not side gap them nor did I index them. Upper end seems about the same maybe slightly better.

I know bigbluepile had one of these on his RE engine and didn't like it. He just wound up using the coil. But these carb'd motors tend to not burn all the fuel the carb sends. SO an aftermarket ignition makes a pretty good improvement on them.
