Hey jerry had to go all the way to that ace hardware fr that x-acto knife. I stopped in family dollar, CVS, dollar general, they didn't have them and when I asked nobody even knew what it was, including one of the people in ACE hardware. lol.

Been quite awhile since I have used and x-acto knife. And damn it hard on the figures lol. Anyway, stencil cut out of the duck tape. Paint will come tomorrow since I pretty much have no outside light to see when painting. And yes, that's a silly band in the photo.

ha ha you guys
hey, i just remembered- before you begin to paint, press the edges of the duct tape down so no paint gets underneath
i like the look of the teq, but not on the tailgate. maybe on the inside of the toolbox lid? or offset on the side of the bed... i could go on

I thought about on the side of the bed as well nearer the tailgate side. Tape is pressed about as far as it will go. Crossing fingers. You know how seasoned wood gets, and I don't think the stuff on the bed unlike my last one is pressure treated.
gonna keep the coats as thin as possible to keep down on seepage as well.
All of this right now is pretty much practice anyway, as the bed and wood will get repainted come summer. Just having fun with it now.
And as far as the new yotatech logo, I think I will be the first one with it on their truck. After this who knows maybe not the only one.
Thanks.

first coat of paint done. I did not opt to use a primer base coat, just in case the paint bled, I did not want the primer to show.

Flat black a cheap one I might add. lol. I actually considered using the black stain I had used and left over from when I did the old bed.

My other half's mother came up with an idea that would be cooler than paint, but I don't have the stuff to do it. She told me the butane torch method wouldn't work.
Burn it into the wood.
