I haven't had any problems with the paint I have noticed. And I use that stuff alot. Bed is pretty much done for now. Probably nothing big till summer. Then it's desert tan(ish) paint on the truck and probably flat black on the bed and wheels. Depending on money situation it might be getting new leafs and ball joint spacers. And probably 33's. That's if my CV's and tie rods last till then. The cv boots are busted and everything steering related is somewhat loose. lol.

OME leafs I will get from here: http://www.rocky-road.com/4runner.html
Ball joint spacers from here: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/...ntSpacer.shtml
CV's most likely from autozone ( I am gonna get smashed for saying that I know it)
I haven't decided yet on the tie rod ends if I want to convert to the FJ tie rods ends or not yet or possibly even do a HIEM upgrade on them. Or just go with an autozone replacement.
I will also need to get an idler arm which will come from autozone but will be the one meant for the 89-95 trucks so I can upgrade the bushings in them from here: http://www.sdori.com/SDORI_Products.html.
Eventually I would like to put a full budbuilt skid/belly plate on it as well as upgrade the transfercase crossmember.

ok guys, small update, as some of you already know I was asking about spray painting "TOYOTA" on the tailgate on the new bed. So I told the girlfriend. Not to get her permission, but just to see what she said.
Well, she asked me why don't I put "YOTATECH" on it. I was like, that's a dang good idea. And it really got my wheels spinning. (that's pretty good since right now I have tire pressure sealing issues on two of my tires which will be fixed tomorrow) Anyway back on subject.
So I thought about the new logos for the t-shirts and stuff. I took one of those logos, modified it so I can make a stencil out of it and print it out on some paper. This was the result:
I left some of the next letter on each page so it was easier to line up the next page to tape it together.
This will get placed on a large piece of cardboard and get cut out to use as the stencil to spray paint on.
more to come.......

(the following is based on my experiences with stencils)
for the stencil, put masking tape on the entire tailgate. then tape the stencil over top of the tape on the gate. trace the outline of the letters with a sharpie. then remove the stencil and, using an exacto knife, cut out the letters and peel them away. you'll be left with a seamless stencil that won't leak around the edges
i've done this many times with great success, on everything from a stool to an airplane
(that's how i'd do it, anyway)
i did the stripes free-hand with 1" wide masking tape

and this with about ½ free-hand and ½ the afore mentioned method

So basically I would be using the paper stencil to make a masking tape stencil on the tailgate. No cardboard needed then. Thanks.

that will help, I haven't put the skid plate back on yet, lol. Which gives me an idea, maybe I will put the TEQ symbol as mightymouse mentioned on the skid plate.

hehe I won't forget the pics, you know that. Just not sure how well the tape is gonna hold on the wood. If the wood was sanded smooth it would probably work well, but.
My basement it not ventilated at all so painting there is out as well as painting in the house, but doing the stencil work is doable in the house. I'll probably just take it outside for each coat and bring it in to dry.
Gonna just use flat black for the paint.

yup good idea, I used regular masking tape on my rocker panels when I did that black stripe. I had a heck of a time getting that to stick. Painters tape IMO is way too expensive. lol.
