Toyo, yeah now that you mention the one inch diff drop I remember talking about it at Pismo. Sorry to micro manage, your dialed in and can tune your rig for maximum articulation on your own! I'd say put the runner on jack stands, remove Tbars, and compress, droop, turn wheels lock to lock, try different bump an droop stops, find what your shocks, cvs, rod ends, BJs can handle and what they can't. Adjust your bumps accordingly and you'll be less likely to break stuff.

Next time you get a SoCal trip scheduled send me an e-mail and I'll try and join you. I am itching to test my 5.29s and Aussie Locker now that they are broken in.

Yea I need to do that. I'm gonna wait to order a set of ome torsion bars 1st. I want a little more lift ad my oem torsion I think are maxed out. Still rides smooth cranked lol.
Def need to hit pismo up just before winter ends

A few of us are heading up to Pilot rock tomorrow for a day run. Its off the 15 and 138. We are meeting at the Mc Donalds around 10AM.

I was amazed you were able to get those stock TBs to work as long as you did! I could barely even get the thing off the bump stops in the driveway even at full crank. Would you consider a "coil over assist" with my shock hoops. Keep the stock TB only with minimal pre-load and supplement the additional spring rate needed with a 300lb spring. This configuration gives you maximum strength as you are dividing the loads between two systems. Neither is working very hard and there are multiple adjustment points. It will also allow dual spring rate. And lastly the shock hoops will allow you to run longer shocks allowing more than enough shock stroke for maximum articulation.

thanks for the invite but i wont make it, just got back from a 2 hour drive one way to pick up a rear bumper. plus i got family for xmas

the TB are still working great and i would keep them if i didnt want just a tad more lift. i will know once i get the 63s installed. i have a feeling they will give me a little more lift than what i have now.

i have considered and really love to have a coil over system but everyone's flex pictures i have seen with coil-over doesnt sure much compression. it might have to do with how stiff or spring rate they are running. another problem is those that run coilover systems are not looking at slow speed stuff like i am. i under why you need a heavy spring rate at high speeds but for me i love how easy my front suspension compresses. i am hoping the OME T bars wont be to stiff lol. they are only 23mm i think

Spent two hours driving up north to pick this bad boy. Got to check out his sweet runner that is in the process if being linked front and rear. I won't be able to install right way. Bummer right. It was made for a 3 inch body lift so I will have to see about getting it fixed to fit my zero lift lol

I wish. I just have a baby welder and I have only done exhaust pipes. It's not pretty but it strong and holds lol. Ill have to monk it up and get what I need to make it fit. Than I just have to hit up a few welders I know who has done work for me in the past.

I'll tear the rear bumper and hitch of this week after Xmas since I got this whole week off and might go wheeling instead we lol

Yeah, the BLCK WID is a sweet 4Runner! Curious as to what bumper he is using to replace the old one he sold you. I also noticed black widow has a rear axle truss with a unicorn traction bar. When you do your Chevy 63" spring conversion you might consider something on this order to control spring wind up / axle wrap. I built something similar on the Fordota that allows more flex movement and controls wrap even better than a ridged link bar. I am still testing it but I might be producing it sometime in the future so I don't want to post quite yet . Hit me up offline when you get to that point.

I also notice the way BLK WID mounted the rear shocks. You said 3" body lift. That would allow the shocks to get way up in there on a cross bar above the frame rails. Even with the shocks mounted high and angled back I suspect he is getting more travel than the stroke of the shock? Check out the 3" monster bump stops attached to the frame bracket. Could be limiting up travel for tire rub or for shock stroke or for both? I do know both shocks mounted behind the axle as opposed to a "dog leg" configuration allows even more axle wrap / spring wind up. Overall I think BLK WID has a really nice setup!

he replaced the rear with a trail gear tube style bumper. i guess it was because he changed out his plated rock sliders for tube for the kick out and wanted it all to match.

he doesnt DD his and honestly he said it only been used twice this year because he just doesnt have time for it as much. he is in the process of linking the front and rear so axle wrap wont be an issue anymore.

Looks great Toyo! I love this truck. The only thing holding it back from perfection is the 3.0.

i really dont have any problems with the 3.0. guess im lucky known the entire history of this vehicle from brand new. i have seen a few 3.4 and 3.4 supercharged complete swaps that i could do. i just dont know if i can find the time or want to spend the time to do a swap plus ref. time will tell if my 3.0 ever gives out.

yea. i had no problems with how the stock bumper looks like. i was gonna just have a bumper made that looks just like stock but in stronger steel. i got lucky and found one that i like and matched closed to the stock bumper
