hahah ok.

well since i installed my elocker. after a few days i noticed a small leak. must be a combinations of stuff but i know for sure i used toyota black FIPG instead of the red. i have tons of black, used for resealing anything that has oil. red is for anything like transmission and/or sealing of stuff that uses gear oil. i got lazy and just went under the truck and tighten up the nuts and worked for a while but started to leak again. i noticed it was coming near the upper longer stud area. i went to tighten the nut on it and it started to pull the stud.
i ended up doing this at home (never again) back still sore... i dropped the third and found a stripped hole for the upper longer stud. i re tapped it and went to hardware store for a 5inch bolt. goal was to install the bolt from inside the diff but there wasnt enough room so i cut the head off and added threads since it wasnt a fully thread bolt. this allow me to install the home made custom stud further into the hole and i used a locking washer and nut on the inside of the stud to keep the stud from being pulled out. its much stronger now.
1st time i didnt use any gaskets, just black FIPG. this time i put some red FIPG on the rear diff housing than installed the factory paper gasket than applied some more red FIPG on top of that so the paper gasket is sandwiched in red FIPG. now the back killer, trying to man handled an odd 80lb 3rd member into the two long studs that was never perfectly straight to began with. sweating and cursing since i was racing against the drying FIPG. i finally got in on and bolted. just need to pick up the driveline tomorrow and get some gear oil. hope it doesnt leak and i fix the driveline noise..
oh and i giving it 2days for it to dry

Yep, that works ok too, Vang.....

I used Permatex-Gear Oil Sealant, too... It's in a buddies rig I sold him... Been leak free for over 160K. The rear end, on the other hand? Yep, ..... after 368K, it's time! lol.

4runner to pre-runner

top is ADD 4.88 diff. just have to remove the stubby gear thing. i had to pop the cover open to pop the stub out

once the stub is out. you can see it looks just like a non add diff. just need to install a seal.

the seal on non add diff are the same on both sides

installed and you can see the ADD sticker and a NON ADD tube

not sure when these bad boys will be installed. just went with HREW kickout from 4x

what do you call that seal. can i get one at napa or some place llike that or use the one off my current non add diff if it come out easily?

i wanna say its called an inner axle seal or differential output shaft seal. i got mine at the dealer.
IFS 7.5" front 3rd axle seals part # 90311-35032
i would get two and do both while you have it apart. i would also use oem since i have read others havent had good luck finding a non oem one that fit right
