ToyoTech559's 1988 4Runner Long Travel Build-Up Thread
Parents owned this 88 runner since new. dad wanted to have every option possible so this runner is fully loaded. i got this last year cuz they upgraded and now i have added to my collection
it has 224749 current miles on it. i recently did a timing belt, water pump. cam seals, crank seal, drive belts, valve cover gaskets, plenum gasket, and put some 32s. im slowly repairing anything broken and doing minor mods to make it look and drive the way i want. mainly be used to go on trials and the snow. few dents and dings here and there but the passenger door and side was due to a delivery truck backing up into it.

thanks guys. im looking at doing the zuk mod or OME lift kit. the runner wont get much mods as im currently putting most my money on the 82 4x4 you see in red 1st.
i added those 32s today but i might color match the wheels with the truck (cream white) or a gloss black to match my truck's wheels
i also have downy headers that i installed last year. CARB legal and passed last year with them.
i know in 88 they stopped putting those inclinometer so i got lucky and picked up a mint colored matched one for $50 shipped

that is a CLEAN cab/dash set up...wow!
What's the story on the "double DIN" radio - is that OEM?
the ZUK mod is pretty easy (hell, I could do it...), and you ARE sagging in the back there
$70 for the springs/shipping, plus half a day of your time. Get an angle grinder/cutter, bottle jack, LARGE jack stands, and socket set, and you're good!

the stereo system is OEM and is the premium stereo upgrade. never noticed the sag with the factory wheels but i can see it better now and zuk is a must lol
we had it garaged most of its life. when it was outside, we had a dash cover. the interior is pretty mint but the seats, carpet and fabrics needs a cleaning.
