Got the valance painted and on the 86 Extra Cab. Went and got some 2000 grit sandpaper to smooth out the clear coat. Misty seen the picture and wanted to know why the hood was 'Funky", it isnt latched down at this time.
Mistys battery went kaput so when I buy a battery, I get the highest Cold Cranking Amps I can find with in reason. 800 CCA should do for what we have to deal with in our part of the country. Her battery was old and finally just gave up on this last cold snap we had.
Brakes on a 3rd Gen Runner is about the easiest brakes you will ever do. The bad thing about them is they seem to be notorious for warping. I had this disc turned a few months back and had to have it turned again. I am looking into doing the Tundra upgrade if it warps again.

I got the rear part of my SR5 panels in. I also got the B Pillar part installed. For the longest time, I had just painted the metal part of the cab. It looked ok and better then it did but starting to look and feel a little more SR5ish. I will do the front doors at a later time as I want to add my 2nd gen runners pockets on to these panels. 2nd gen pockets are larger.
I also got my Starter repair kit in today. I am hoping to do the starter in the next couple of days. I am also working on the front bumper caps for the 86 pickup. Might get some pics posted later tonite of that if I get them done.

Kind of curious as to where you found the repair kit for your starter at? I am in need of one for my pickup but searched online and can't seem to find one. Except for on Amazon I think. But the runner looks amazing, really makes me miss mine.

Hello dswag... Here is where I got mine from. >>> http://nationstarteralternator.com/ It is coming along slowly but surely. I plan on getting the front panels on my next days off and soon I will start on the trunk area. Each improvemnet is starting to make it feel more like I had planned and is getting so much more enjoyable.
Hello cyberhorn... I normally check ebay for several things but found these on youtube. They look to be great quality and plan on getting these installed soon.

Hello Dave... I have to be there on the 7/8 of December. I always come up the day before. They are trying to decide if we need to be there on the 6th to make up for the government shut down. I will definitely be there on the 6th and possibly the 5th. I would like to hit the yards to get some calipers and boosters for upgrades. Our yards dont have any and when they do, they must be made of gold.
As of now I plan on being in St.Louis by 3pm on the 6th.

I mount the end caps to the bumpers with same size carriage bolts as the rest of the bumper uses. I have a couple of end caps out on the highways as I would just be driving along and the wind takes them off. I have had Toyota and aftermarket end caps to come off, so now I try to make it look like they are factory with the bolts. These caps were faded bad and I just use Duplicolor trim paint. These are for the 86 extra cab.
Here the caps are mounted and will post pics when I get it back on the truck. I will get a picture of them on the truck tomorrow.

My brother got two deer and they are going into my freezer. I am taking the brats in the morning. This will be there first time of deer hunting. We haluled the deer to the butcher shop in his truck. This is the step side truck that I built awhile back. The buck is going to be turned into mostly hamburger and I will have 20% beef fat added to the deer burger, taste just like hamburger. Between the deer and half of a beef we buy every year, we have only bought hamburger once or twice in the past 5 years.
While dropping off our deer to be processed. A guy pulled up and had this big buck. It was his 9 year old daughters first deer. He said he has never gotten a deer this big. He says she was really excited and he is getting it shoulder mounted for her for the wall.

That stuff works pretty good, I used that on my Camry door trim that was black. I like that it isn't glossy. OH, I forgot, I used that stuff on my 2nd Gen 4runner mirrors that are on my truck also!
I also used this stuff on the rubber trim pieces on the camry, it works good also.
Nice hunting! I wish I could do more hunting, one day when I meet someone who is willing to let me tag along and learn. All I've done is quail and rabbit hunting.

Thats awesome that your brother gave you 2 deer haha! Pretty nice buck too. I think its always awesome to see young kids get monsters, keeps them coming back for more and keeps the sport alive. Which means there's less animals rights activists wack jobs out there.

Hello Grego... I will give that brand a try. I like quail hunting. I like to use a pellet gun and by the time they figure out what is going on, I can usually have 5 or 6. Another thing I like to do is go frog hunting with a .22 rifle. I cant get up on them with a flash light and a gigging stick and stumbling around in the night. I do really well in the day time. Misty is a city girl and never had deer or frog legs and loves them now.
Hello dswag... I took the boys for the first time and they wouldnt sit still so didnt have much luck. My brother and his wife like going and since their kid is out of the house, they dont need as much. It works out for both of us. I am hoping ot get one later this week. My sister and my mother in law are those whack jobs as well. They dont understand that deer have no natural predators around here and when they over populate, mother nature deals with over population in a brutal way. Guess starving to death is a better way to go in their minds.
Thanks cyberhorn.. We have the dehydrator going now. I like to turn the deer roast into jerky as well. Misty likes to try different flavors of jerky. We now have enough hamburger for the full year. It cuts down on the grocery expenses alot. Misty is going to try to make deer sausage out of some of it.

Got a few things done lately. Been cleaning the shop and found a work bench I had in there. I got the bumper on the truck. Just mounted on to get it off of the floor as I need to get some more bolts. It took 3 different bumpers to make one.
My battery was an old one and was low cranking amps for winter. I replaced it with the same battery that I have in Mistys. While doing that, I went thru the whole starting system and cleaned the contacts in the Starter Relay, and then replaced the contacts in the starter.
Here is my old ones compared to the new one.
When replacing the contacts, pay attention to the one contact that has a wire attached to it.
Also a friend sent me a marker for the mudflaps. I plan on getting them covered in white. I did a test on one of my old ones and I think it is going to look great.

monkey grip huh LOL
one recipe for sausage i got to help with down in far east texas was deer meat ground up with some pork an beef fat and a good helping of deer blood (not too much fat n blood) rice dried onions seasonings (definitely spicy for them cajuns) left to sit for a bit to let the salt break up the proteins makes the meat sticky mix again an then put into casings smoke um slow or freeze
the glutin the meat makes from the salt makes a firm solid sausage the rice helps hold the fats an seasonings keeps it flavorful

I got my new battery in. It is a 1000 Cranking Amps with 800 Cold Cranking Amps. I usually like to run the Diehard battery, but we have a battery store here and I wanted to give theirs a try. My dad say theirs are great so we will see. I replaced Mistys a month ago and now mine. They were old batteries. Misty went and had the 3rd gens oil changed and they said the battery is going bad in it as well. It is 8 years old so I am not suprised. Guess I will be getting one for it now.
I also got my starter in with its new contacts and plunger and I cleaned the contacts on my Starter Relay. Onlyt thing I want to do later on is do a little battery wire work and should have my starting system in fine shape.
After that I got my SR5 door panels in. I dont like the first gen pockets so I stuck my 2nd gen pockets on. I will do some touch up on the carpet at the bottom of the door to match my pockets to doors a little better. Hunter gets my old panels. They are ok and will work for him.
When adding pockets to panel with carpet, I use finishing nails to make holes. The first and second gen pocket hole screws dont line up.
Here is how to remove the clip that holds the window crank on. Just posting this for others to see. Take a cloth and work it around until you see the clip. I then take a jewlers flat blade to lift the clip out.
