Thanks PowerstrokeJoe...It was a workout and a good learning experience for me. This should be the "Mine isnt that bad, there is hope for my truck build".

Steps I did to fix my injectors. I will try to make this from easy to hardest steps. All pages I am refering to are from the Haynes manual. I did download a FSM for more info.
1. I tried Starting Fluid just to see if it was electrical or fuel.
2.Check the Ground on the far rear of the intake nut.
3.Check all grounds. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-guide-194413/
4.Run Resistance check on Coil.
Haynes Pg 5-3
5.Check Solenoid Resistor. Pg 4-10 13.22b
6.Check EFI Main Relay Pg 4-9
7.Run Resistance checks on Fuel injectors. There are atleast 3 different types of injectors. Do Not put wrong ones in. Could ruin computer. Pg 4-2
Link to different injectors.. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ectors-127606/
8. I added a ground to the ECU. Will post a pic later. Link for mor info..http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13329207905461
9.Open wire harness and replace factory clips.https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f115...e-help-178975/
This is what I did, there is still things that can be done using a noid light and voltage checks. I didnt have to, so not much help there.

Hello RMP8080..That WAS the plan, I will explain below, if you notice, all those things I can do that dont require parts, but I try to show how to make these builds reasonable. I generally have a paper list out with me and thought I would post it to show others what works for me. I kind of do the same thing when I go to the boneyard with the notepad in my phone. I have a list of what I want and would like to have. I can get in the shop or yard and be danged if I could think of 2 things.
Hello Jason..I was really hoping to have all of most of it done yesterday and today alone but have a few things coming up. My sister in law as access to camera that might do longer videos so I can post a video of the interior. She will let me know tonite.

I was hoping to have alot of my list knocked out in a couple of days and mostly focused on getting it where I can atleast move the truck in and out of the shop with its own power. I was putting in the transfer case stick and can not find the c-clip that holds it in. So that started me on cleaning the shop and getting things organized again in hopes of finding the c-clip. That usually works for me when I misplace a tool or part. It didnt this time. But the shop now looks GREAT!!
A list really helps me get the most out of my time and keeps me moving when I get hung up or waiting for a part. I could of kept going, but I pulled a c-clip out of the 79s tcase so I know which size I need when I go to the parts store today and dont want to be guessing which c-clip I need for it when the time comes to start on it. As soon as I run out of things that I can do on the runner, I plan on getting on to the truck. I have everyting for it to get it running. Literally just put everything together and drop it in the truck.
Like I was saying I was hoping to get my list done in the next couple of days but I will be going fishing Friday as the Crappie are supposed to be biting and also am going to the boneyard.
Friday being a holdup is one thing, but the other thing is this guy is the orginal owner of an 87 SR5 extended cab 4x4. He is so frustrated with the mechanics that have worked on his truck he was even tempted to sell me the truck. It has a few dents and faded paint, but it is solid and rare for around here. I could probably got it for a song and dance, but I know how well he likes this truck and told him I would help him get the head redone as he had it done not long ago and I know who sent it to. That was a mistake.
They were going to charge him $484 just to do the fuel pump. I told him how to do it himself and where I get my $30 fuel pumps and he did and was really happy. I have helped him in the past on some things. It will probably be me doing most of the work on it as he has know what wrenchs and sockets are but that is about it. He had the Timing Chain redone not long ago so just have to pull the head. I am hoping to have the head off in a few hours and try and get back to mine.

DAYNGGGG! LOL....... that list has me dizzy! lol. Cleaning the AC lines is an important one... but equally important is that you pull hard vacuum on it for an overnight period(ensure it's holding and then remove moisture). Be careful trying to flush those lines while attached as the o-rings throughout the system are VERY particular as to what type of oil you're using, right? Also, you can get Denso o-rings at the dealer, but you have to tell them whether you want R12 or 134 o-rings(At the dealer, I think they're either black or brown for the two... The original ones are a light blue/TINY greenish tint(Kinda like the Aisin Master Cyl's and such.
Make sure you use a new drier(didn't see that, sorry if I missed it). I got mine at www.dealerdirectparts.com for like 30$, OEM. The two LARGE o-rings under each side(Hi/Low) of the compressor top.... those are larger than any of the other around 18 o-rings that I replaced.... And trust me, I"m glad I did, cuz MANY of them were really eaten up by years of wear/weathering. I think it's all in my build... not sure where, lol.
Very nice of you to help that guy, buddy! You could've taken him... but you related to him, instead,.... very cool deed! lol.

Hello Chef.. What would you suggest to clean the AC lines? I had a mud dobber to build a nest in on of the hoses that goes to the fire wall. I broke it up and then took an air hose and blew from the oppisite direction. Shouldnt be any dirt in there but it probably needs cleaned anyways.
Thanks for the link on the drier. I will have to convert. Will miss having R12.
It is a nice truck. He just has had such bad luck with mechanincs. I could do about $200 in headwork and paint runs me about $250 to do myself and somebodywork. That would be to easy for me.lol None of my projects ever are that easy. I try to be honest in my dealings, it just would come around and bite me in the butt.
Our boneyards are not Pick and Pull like you have there. Mostly for insurance purposes and the boneyards I deal with are usually fair with me and I get access to the yard without an escort in alot of the times which really helps. So it comes back around in a good way.

When I was having problems with my injectors, I come across where it was suggested to add another ground for the ECU. Hope this is what they meant. I grounded it from the ECU to the center console where the wrench is. It can hurt anything and can only help.
I took a pic to add to my 88s build and for others that might be working on an 85/86 on the location of the T1/E1 diag port. I had a hard time trying to find this some time ago and Jason helped me locate it. Thought I would put it up for others. As far as I know 84 are carburator motors, if EFI, this will be the same I think.

Hey Chef, can you elaborate on these 2 large o-rings? I changed all of mine, but I don't think I got these 2. Do you have to remove that top plate on the compressor that has the hi and lo fittings on it?

The lines on my compressor are 2 separate pieces, one for the high and one for the low.... under each piece, there are Larger O-rings, and sorry again to say....they are THE MOST common to leak. I have pics and vid and detailed explanation of what I found/how I did some of it, etc., on my build. I wish I knew what page, Cory... Just can't remember. I'll look when I have time and post it here for Terry/Myself and you, k? lol.

Hey Cory, .....
From page 71 through 76, maybe further, it's sporadic, at best, but there is plenty of info in there(the right o-rings to use for which ever type refrigerant/how many there are, how to do some of it, right, etc.)....... Starting here......
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post51685445
Then more on 73 and then some, in between, k? Good pic of the seals/o-rings under those hi-low valves......enjoy! lol.

Thanks Chef..I would appreciate it. The wifes 88 will be getting AC done first, still havent gotten to it from last summer as it went on the back burner. With the heat starting to kick in, it will be getting moved up the list real fast.
I dont know if you remember when I was having all of the problems trying to get the adapter to fit on the 88?, but that was cause I had the IACV on backwards. That was the way I got it and when I tore it down it was like that so I put it back on that way. Doh!!! Bet that is the proble with the idle. I just noticed it the other day. It actually runs fine and just a little high on the idle side at times othe times it runs great. Beats me, It was a bonehead mistake. Not everything goes well here at times.lol
I made it to the boneyard and didnt get all that I would of liked. It just wasnt there. Didnt get to go fishing as mom wanted the kids for the weekend and I have to take them to her. So we get the nite out with the kiddos something that doesnt happen much. Wahoo!! If I can get to mom and dads in time they have a boneyard there I am going to try and hit. I will still be able to get home before the wife gets off of work.
The list is getting shorter. I got my memory upgraded on the phone for video and now I got to find the data cable to get it on the web. It is starting to look and feel like a Runner again. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, just a long tunnel.

I'm in one crises after another..... , BUT I AM able to do things inside the houses.... So I wanted to take a few minutes-whatever in order to find it and stamp a link to that one for you and whomever else it might help, ya know?
Great news, Terry.... I'm so happy for you in having yet ANOTHER great project coming toward completion!!!! You're a hard worker, for country and in general... and I have great appreciation and admiration for you as a person as well as one of great work ethic "KILL IT, HOMIE", as I like to say! hahaaha.

Hello coryc85..Dont worry about hijacking. I want this thread to be where if someone has questions or something else not to be worried about getting flamed or anything like that. It wont happen. Besides I need the info too on AC as mine isnt working.
Thanks Chef..It starting to look like another hot summer and that is going to move the AC up the list. I did the Army thing this weekend and had to do a physical test and now I am feeling muscles I didnt know exist. Getting older is for the birds.
Awhile back you wanted me to post a vid of the 88s interior. I am starting to get the hang of this video thing and am putting one here on the 86 to see how things go. I will get one of the 88 in the next few days if all goes well.
